(END SOT) The CBS news team was travelling in a

US military convoy in central Baghdad

when what officials are calling
"curious incident" caused the convoy to
STOP.

As everyone got OUT of their armored
vehicles, a nearby car packed with
explosives blew up.

British Cameraman Paul Douglas and
British Soundman James Brolan died at
the scene. Veteran CBS News
Correspondent Kimberly Dozier was
medevaced to a US military hospital
inside Baghdad's Green Zone where she
underwent surgery for serious injuries.

Bob Schieffer:CBS Evening News Anchor

CBS News President Sean McManus called
it a "devastating loss" for CBS News.

"KIMBERLY, PAUL AND JAMES WERE VETERANS
OF WAR COVERAGE WHO PROVED THEIR
BRAVERY AND DEDICATION EVERY SINGLE
DAY. OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY GOES OUT TO
THE FAMILIES OF PAUL AND JAMES, AND WE
ARE HOPING AND PRAYING FOR A COMPLETE
RECOVERY BY KIMBERLY."

Dozier's condition is being described
as critical, but doctors are
"cautiously optimistic."

48 year old veteran cameraman Paul
Douglas, leaves behind a wife, two

daughters and three grandchildren.

Paul was a great cook. And he liked to
clown around -- BOTH much needed and
appreciated in Baghdad.

Forty two year old freelance soundman
James Brolan leaves a wife and two
children. He, too, liked a laugh. And a
card game or two.

They saved their serious side for work.
And they were good. Always driven by
the need to get close to the story.

CHARLIE D'AGATA/LONDON

EVERY DAY THERE ARE DOZENS KILLED IN
IRAQ. BUT IT SAYS SOMETHING THAT THIS
IS THE TOP STORY HERE IN BRITAIN.
BECAUSE ALL THE BRITISH JOURNALISTS
HERE KNEW THESE GUYS, THEY LIKED THEM,
RESPECTED THEM, AND, LIKE US, WILL MISS
THEM.

*CG locator Brockworth, Gloucestershire

About three thousand spectators and
racers showed up to watch the annual
cheese rolling in Brockworth, England.

In the bizarre event, scores of
people chase a rolling cheese down a
near vertical hill.

They raced for a round Double
Gloucester.

If you think the racers are
daredevils, it also takes some nerve to
be a member of the audience.

Twelve spectators were hurt along
with another 13 people in the race.

One spectator was hit by one of the
hard, dinner-plate-sized cheeses.

Only two people needed to be taken to
the hospital.

The event has been celebrated for
centuries to mark the return of spring.
