coming down.

VO-NAT Roanoke City Attorney Bill
Hackworth says Norfolk Southern agreed
to release the city from a deed
obligation requiring it to leave the
Stadium on the property.
That gives Roanoke the go- ahead
for demolition.
The only remaining stipulations
are that the land must continue to
house the National Guard Armory, and be
considered city parks and recreation
property.
The news has led a pro-Victory
Stadium citizen group to drop its
lawsuit aimed at halting demolition.
Reports from the city managers
office indicate demolition could begin
within the week.

looking for food in a Giles County
neighborhood.

State wildlife biologists set a pair
of traps, and neighbors tells us one of
them caught the bear overnight.
The adult black bear had been wandering
through the area for a couple of weeks,
looking for food in trash cans, coming
up to houses, even climbing into a
family's car in search of a meal.
No word yet on the bear's location at
this hour, but plans call for a release
not too far away in the Jefferson
National Forest.

chopper crash in south Georgia.

Alabama says one soldier survived this

19 Recordings, Limited, in conjunction
with music mogul Clive Davis and Arista
Records.
The Alabama native has already
recorded two songs: "Do I Make You
Proud," which he sang during the final

a rendition of the Doobie Brothers' hit
"Takin' It To The Streets."
Fans can expect a full- length record
from the 29- year- old later this year.

INQ=Animation Begins. Redskins Fans this weekend. It's the
first ever Redskins Beach Blitz fan
appreciation festival. Get up close and
personal with Redskins coaches,
players, and cheerleaders over the
weekend. The weather looks comfortable,
with highs in the low 80s and water
temperatures in the 70s
Much the same for Ocean City,
Maryland with a slight chance of
scattered showers.
Head south to the Outer banks, and
highs reach the mid and upper 70's.
Morehead City should see temperatures
at 82. Expect a chance of scattered
showers and storms along the coastal
Carolinas. Sunday should be the sunnier
of the two.
Taking the trip to Myrtle Beach
this weekend? The 55th Annual Sun Fun
Festival kicks off on the Grand Strand.
You'll see a few storms mixed in with
the sun both Saturday and Sunday. Highs
are running in the low 80s with water
temperatures in the 70s.
