In other news, heat related illness can
affect your pet, in fact, they are more
at risk than humans for heat stroke.
That's because they don't sweat and can
only release heat by panting or through
their paws.

HEAT STROKE CAN BE FATAL EVEN WITH THE
APPROPRIATE TREATMENT. AND THE REASON
WHY IS JUST LIKE WITH PEOPLE IF THEY
HAVE HEAT STROKE PROBLEM THESE GUYS CAN
GO INTO SHOCK AND THEN ORGAN FAILURE
AND THEN DEATH

(END SOT)

Some pets are also at risk for
sunburn if they have light colored fur
on white on their ears or around their
noses.

Veterinarian Karen Bowman recommends
using baby sun screen. She says it's
important to make your pet gets plenty
of water and doesn't over exert itself
in hot weather.

TAKE VIDEO FROM FAST FOOD TAPE

And finally in health news,

The Food and Drug Administration is
investigating whether the nation's
restaurants should be responsible for
helping with America's growing obesity
problem. A report showed American's
consume a third of their daily calories
from restaurants. The findings
encourage food establishments to take
more responsibility by offering
healthier alternatives, smaller
portions, and more nutritional
information.
