debating a proposed constitutional

It would define marriage as the

prohibit states from recognizing

(END SOT) THE PROPOSED CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT

BANNING SAME SEX MARRIAGE STANDS LITTLE
CHANCE OF PASSING.. BUT THAT WON T STOP
DEBATE.

PRESIDENT BUSH USED HIS WEEKEND RADIO
ADDRESS TO PUSH FOR SENATE APPROVAL..
AND WILL PROMOTE THE ISSUE AGAIN TODAY.

BUSH 10:09:16 An amendment to the
Constitution is necessary because
activist courts have left our Nation
with no other choice.

THE WHITE HOUSE SAYS THE PRESIDENT..
WHO S BEEN LARGELY SILENT ON THE ISSUE
SINCE HIS REELECTION.. IS TALKING ABOUT
IT NOW BECAUSE OF THE IMPENDING SENATE
VOTE.

CRITICS CALL THE TIMING SUSPECT.

(Joe Salomonese, Human Rights Campaign)

SOT I think it is an election year

tactic, but i think more than anything
it is a response to rapidly slipping
numbers from the right wing base.

MIDTERM ELECTIONS ARE JUST A FEW MONTHS
AWAY AND MANY CONSERVATIVE GROUPS HAVE
BEEN UNHAPPY WITH REPUBLICAN WORK SO
FAR.

(Charmaine Yoest/Family Research
Council)

SOT better late than never. but I think

the GOP really needs to learn its

lesson, that its core supporters really
do CARE about social issues.

DEMOCRATS SAY THE SENATE HAS MORE
PRESSING BUSINESS.

(Sen. Joseph Biden (D-DE)) (Courtesy:
Meet the Press )

BIDEN: 9:19:18 the world s going to
hades in a hand basket///we're going to
debate the next three weeks, I'm told,
gay marriage, a flag amendment and God
only knows what else. I can't believe
the American people can't see through
this.

ANOTHER CONSTITUTIONAL PROPOSAL
DEFINING MARRIAGE AS A UNION BETWEEN A
MAN AND WOMAN FAILED IN 2004.

CLOSE: TO MAKE IT OUT OF THE SENATE THE
AMENDMENT NEEDS APPROVAL FROM
TWO-THIRDS OF THE MEMBERS, BUT SO FAR
SUPPORTERS HAVE HAD A HARD TIME
CONVINCING EVEN HALF. SUSAN ROBERTS>>

A new breast cancer study has
encouraging news for women with an
aggressive form of the disease.

(vo)

The study shows the experimental drug
Tykerb combined with the chemotherapy
drug Xeloda can significantly slow the
growth of tumors.

There are also signs that Tykerb may
also keep the cancer from spreading to
the brain.. something that often
happens to a third of breast cancer

patients.

Researchers say the Tykerb tests were
so successful they ended them early.

The manufacturer hopes to begin selling
the drug next year pending regulatory
approval.

The F-D-A is pressuring restaurants to
give customers more information on the
fat and calorie content in their
foods.. in an effort to combat obesity.

The FDA estimates Americans now consume
an average of one-third of their
calories in restaurants, workplace
cafeterias and other places outside the
home.

Nearly 64 percent of American adults
are now classified as overweight or
obese.

(wipevo)

And if you ve been glued to the couch a
little too much lately.. and think
you're past the point of no return..
think again.

New research shows that middle-aged,
overweight adults who have been
sedentary for 6 months can overcome the
negative health effects of inactivity
with just 6 months of exercise.

What's more, people with the largest
health setbacks from inactivity seem to
reap the biggest benefits from getting
back to exercise.

A new breast cancer study has
encouraging news for women with an
aggressive form of the disease.

(vo)

The study shows the experimental drug
Tykerb combined with the chemotherapy
drug Xeloda can significantly slow the
growth of tumors.

There are also signs that Tykerb may
also keep the cancer from spreading to

the brain.. something that often
happens to a third of breast cancer
patients.

Researchers say the Tykerb tests were
so successful they ended them early.

The manufacturer hopes to begin selling
the drug next year pending regulatory
approval.

The F-D-A is pressuring restaurants to
give customers more information on the
fat and calorie content in their
foods.. in an effort to combat obesity.

The FDA estimates Americans now consume
an average of one-third of their
calories in restaurants, workplace
cafeterias and other places outside the
home.

Nearly 64 percent of American adults
are now classified as overweight or
obese.

(wipevo)

And if you ve been glued to the couch a
little too much lately.. and think
you're past the point of no return..
think again.

New research shows that middle-aged,
overweight adults who have been
sedentary for 6 months can overcome the

negative health effects of inactivity
with just 6 months of exercise.

What's more, people with the largest
health setbacks from inactivity seem to
reap the biggest benefits from getting
back to exercise.

This is the film that Nick Beaty,

The movie debuted in front of a

The turnout and appreciation of
