Who knew this ambition would land an

utter of Raja's name on the David
Letterman show, among others....

*LG -- i didn't think it would go very
far but it took a life of its own...

There is one difference this time
around...instead of reciting the
numbers aloud Raja decided to type them
and use a program to check every 100
numbers to make sure he was correct.

--7:14-30 at least once every two days
i practiced the last thousand and last
week i practice the whole thing....

But more than 4600 digits in..he made a
mistake...marking the end of try number
two...(4:45-47) PAUSE (him rubbing his
head, silence)

Almost immediately, a determined Raja
immediately asked if anyone minded
another try?

*nat sound, 5:33-36, i think he's got
time

So the typing commenced.

Raja did get to 7,743 digits of the
infinite 3.14 but did not set the
record....Raja's father tells us he
will try again this coming Monday.>>

But, the team has already gotten

And it's not just the team that's
improved.

Hooker Field has also undergone

some changes, including a new paint

Officials hope the combination
will help increase attendance.

Last year's home games averaged
just over a thousand, in a field that
