short-reprieve after Governor Tim Kaine
delayed his execution.

VO-NAT Walton was scheduled to be put to


death last night for killing three
people in 1996.

stepped in and delayed the execution
until December 8th.

That will allow time for an
independent evaluation of Walton's
mental condition and competence.

His lawyers say he is insane and
mentally retarded.

GRAPHIC=Robbery Lynchburg Police are


investigating a robbery at the 'Shell-
Stop In' convenience store on Old
Forest Road.

Police say a man entered the
store, displayed a knife and demanded

money.

No one was injured during the
robbery.

But, the suspect did leave with
an undetermined amount of cash.

Police are looking for a 6 foot
tall white male between 20-30 years
old.

He was also wearing a blue hat
and kept a red bandana over his mouth
during the robbery.

underway in a Montgomery County murder
trial.

Pritchett is guilty of robbery and
first-degree murder.

Investigators say Pritchett shot
and killed Estel Es-tull Singleton at
the Ironto rest stop in 1997.

This is Pritchett's third trial.

Pritchett's second trial, last
September, ended in a mistrial after a
jury deadlocked.

She's held just about every
position, teacher, principal, deputy
superintendent, and now superintendent.

Lange plans to meet with all the
county's principals in the coming
months to see what needs improvement.

In addition to being
superintendent, she's also continuing
her work as deputy superintendent until
a replacement is found.

The policy makes it clear e-mail

and therefore can be monitored by the
school system.

The policy also addresses illegal
downloading, using the technology to
bully, and posting inappropiate
material.

Lewis Elementary School.

These group of students recently
placed tenth out of 62 at an
international competition.

Also recognized were music
teachers.

manager faced some scary moments, after
a man robbed the place, then forced her
into the trunk of a car.

It happened early Sunday morning
at Shakers Restaurant.

The manager was leaving the store
when a man grabbed her and forced her

back inside.

The victim believes the man had a
gun and he stole money.

When he was finished he forced
the woman into the trunk of a car.

She was eventually able to get
out of the truck and she ran to a
nearby business for help.

Montgomery County after animal control
says they attacked a woman and her dog.

the end of May.

Myra Hogue says she was standing
on her front porch with her dachshund,
Ruby, when her neighbor's pitbulls
showed up and started attacking.

Ruby is recovering from several
bites and scratches to her stomach and
back side.

Animal control charged Danielle
Sword with two counts of having a
dangerous dog and two counts of having
a dog at large.

A judge will decide what happens
to the pitbulls.

after allegedly robbing a Sheetz store
appeared in court yesterday.

30-year-old Jesse Lee Allen of
Roanoke limped into the courtroom for
his preliminary hearing.


In April, Allen was shot by
police after he allegedly robbed the
Sheetz store on Williamson Road.

also in court yesterday.

She said she remembered feeling a
knife against her back as a man took
nearly 600 dollars out of the register.

Allen's case was certified to the
next grand jury.
