The Liberty Counsel believes
Bedford County's decision is
unconstitutional.

The county says Garland Simmons'

had violated zoning and safety codes by

Officials with Liberty Counsel
say it's in conflict with his
constitutional rights of freedom of
assembly and religious practices.

Liberty Counsel representatives
say if Simmons is not allowed to hold
services in the barn, the counsel will
likely file suit against the county.

mad cow in

Texas and Alabama say they've found a
mysterious strain of the disease in
cattle.

Scientists looking at the Texas
and Alabama cases, which turned up in
2005 and this year, say the cows'
brains didn't show the same lesions
seen in other mad cow cases.

They say the cows appear to have
had a strain of mad cow that could
rarely appear spontaneously


in cattle.

Jeff Gordon crash. Gordon fell out of
the top ten in points. The laps are
