investigating a murder.
Officers were called to 16-14
Early Street, at 11:54 last night.
Upon arrival they found a man
inside the residence who had been shot.
The victim has been identified as
26 year old David Devin Poe.
Poe was pronounced dead at the scene.

murder, kidnapping and impersonating an
officer will appear in court later
today.
22-year-old Petty Officer 3rd
Class Cooper Jackson is accused of
killing 23-year-old Corporal Justin
Huff back in January.
The Article 32 hearing, the
military equivalent of a grand jury
investigation, will determine if
Jackson will face a court-martial in
connection with the death of Huff.
Jackson is being held at Norfolk
Naval Station.
He could face the death penalty.

up between two candidates hoping to
unseat Republican George Allen.

Webb says Miller is the

The turnout for tomorrow's
Democratic Senate primary is expected
to be less than stellar.
Less than five percent of
Virginia's registered voters are
expected to vote.
Whoever wins the primary will
face Republican Senator George Allen.

backing the so-called "Cowboy Church"
in Moneta.
The Liberty Counsel believes
Bedford County's decision is
unconstitutional.
The county says Garland Simmons'
had violated zoning and safety codes by
hosting the cowboy church inside his
barn
Officials with Liberty Counsel
say it's in conflict with his
constitutional rights of freedom of
assembly and religious practices.
Liberty Counsel representatives
say if Simmons is not allowed to hold
services in the barn, the counsel will
likely file suit against the county.
