SO FAR IT LOOKS TO BE PRETTY MINOR SO
WE HOPE IT DOESN T GET TOO CRANKED UP
OUT THERE.BUT WE WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

Alberto is predicted to be a rainmaker.

Some areas along Florida s gulf coast
have received several inches of rain
and up to 10 inches are expected to
fall over the next two days.

THE TROPICAL STORM WARNING IS BEING
ELEVATED TO A HURRICANE WARNING IN SOME
AREAS ALONG THE GULF COAST.

AS YOU CAN SEE THE BEACHES ARE EMPTY
HERESO MANY PEOPLE ARE APPARENTLY
HEEDING THE ADVICE OF WEATHER EXPERTS
THAT THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS WILL BE
NASTY.

(GRAPHIC OF STORM)

Because Alberto has shifted North and
is now expected to make landfall
Tuesday afternoon rather than morningit
will hit at high tide..

Some areas could see upwards of eight
feet of storm surge..

(NATSOUND OF OCEAN)

and that means the potential for
significant flooding.

And when it hitsit could have sustained
winds of 65 miles an hour.

What appeared to at first just look
like a very minor storm---could end up

causing major headaches.

VO-NAT The Mavericks beat Miami 99-to-85

to take a 2-to-0

lead in the N-B-A Finals.

The Dallas defense stole the
show.

They held Miami to 41-point-four
percent shooting.

With five points, Shaquille
(shah-KEEL') O'Neal had the
lowest-scoring playoff game of his

career.

Now the series shifts to South
Florida.

And Miami will try to rebound,
but only two teams in history have
recovered from an 0-2 deficit in the
Finals to win the series.

Game three will be played
tomorrow night.

Fox Sports The 42 car of Casey Mears
:00 got an extreme makeover just a lap in
thanks to the nudge from Scott Riggs.

The Havoline Dodge was crinkled
significantly in the rear and Mears was
done for the day.

Hamlin had his troubles
after leading 49 of the first 50 laps,
blowing a tire and spinning out, but
staying off the wall.

Carl Edwards was stout in
the 99.

But while leading just before
the halfway point, his crew dropped the
jack on his ride and couldn't get it
back up right away.

That cost Edwards a minute and a
half in the pits, and any shot at the
win.

Jeff Gordon lost his brakes
with under 10 to go.

Gordon took a lick, and fell out
of the top 10 in points.

After that early spin,
Hamlin dropped back to 40th but worked
his way to the front, and the rookie
took the checkered flag holding off
Kurt Busch for the first points win of
his career.
