The 2006 storm season is expected to
kick into high gear today with Tropical

More than 20-thousand people have been
ordered to evacuate to
higher ground.

Alberto may not be a monster....but
it's the first named storm of the 2006
Atlantic Hurricane season...and very
few people along Florida's Gulf Coast
are taking it lightly....especially
state authorities who have ordered more
than 20,000 residents and tourists to
clear out.

praying, asking the lord to spare us."

The outer edges of Alberto began
lashing the Gulf Coast overnight and
before its gone...the storm could drop
4 to 10 inches of rain. Forecasters
warn storm surge and flooding could
threaten lives.
sot: Gov. Jeb Bush/R-Florida
"We want to make sure people take this,
very, very seriously."
(Casone bridge) (FEEL FREE TO ADD SOME

And many have....here in Cedar Keys
most of the town is shut down and
boarded up until Alberto passes by.
But even following the most destructive
hurricane season on record...some are
content to take their chances with
Alberto.
sot: mos
"only thing we did was take umbrella
in."
Others...like the Federal Emergency
Management Agency...have done much more
to prepare. FEMA says they have
evacuation buses and emergency supplies
ready to take on Alberto and other
storms that are likely to follow...
during a hurricane season that could be
a long one.

Kimberly, the Consumer Product

for parents about the potential hazards
of inflatable pools.

Many parents think because the
pools are designed for kids, they must
be safe.
Health experts say that simply
isn't true.
The CPSC reports 17 drowning
deaths involving inflatable pools in
2005.
Problems arise anytime little
children are around water unattended.
Toddlers can drown in as little
as two to three inches of water.
What seems like an insignificant
amount of water to a grown up can be
potentially life threatening to
children.
Pediatrician Dr. John Moore says
a common problem with drowning is small
children tumbling into inflatable pools
head first, then not being able to get
themselves out of the water because
their head is bigger than the rest of
their body.

TAKE BOB FULL LIVE FULL
Many drowning deaths occur when
young children are not expected to be
near the pool area.
Drowning can occur in just the
few minutes it takes to answer the
phone.
If a child turns up missing,
always look in the pool first.
When you are planning to be near
the water, Dr. Moore suggests parents
be within arms length of toddlers and
infants at all times.
He also recommends having a cell
phone or a cordless phone around in
case something happens.

young children are not expected to be

Drowning can occur in just the

If a child turns up missing,
always look in the pool first.
When you are planning to be near

be within arms length of toddlers and

He also recommends having a cell

Many parents think because the
pools are designed for kids, they must
be safe.
Health experts say that simply
isn't true.
Problems arise anytime little
children are around water unattended.
Toddlers can drown in as little
as two to three inches of water.
What seems like an insignificant
amount of water to a grown up can be
potentially life threatening to
children.
Pediatrician Dr. John Moore says
a common problem with drowning is small
children tumbling into inflatable pools
head first, then not being able to get
themselves out of the water because
their head is bigger than the rest of
their body.

When you are planning to be near

be within arms length of toddlers and

He also recommends having a cell
