week, the nephew of 4 time Indy 500
winner Rick Mears, will join Hendrick
Motorsports next season, replacing
Brian Vickers in the 25 ride. It's a
multi year deal that keeps Mears at
Hendrick thru 2009.

In the middle of his 4th Cup
season, the 28 year old Mears has
recorded two poles and five top fives
in his career. Vickers was released to
pursue other opportunities. Mears will
now be a teammate of Jeff Gordon,
Jimmie Johnson, AND Kyle Busch with
whom he's had several run ins this
season.

of the N-B-A Finals last night by
winning Game 3 on their home court.
Dwyane Wade led a 4th quarter comeback
from a double digit deficit. Wade
scored 42 points for the game and he

got some help from Shaquille O'Neal.
The Heat still trail the Dallas
Mavericks 2 games to 1 but they have
life with the next 2 games in Miami.

gold-digger...a man who believed his
front yard held a buried treasure.

A California man started digging
a hole 10 days ago after his gold
detector gave a reading near his front
patio.

Initially he only planned to dig
three or four feet but in 10 days
managed to dig a hole nearly 60 feet
down.

Of course he didn't do it alone,
the man hired three day labourers to
help him mine for what he was sure was
gold.
