getting some good information in the
investigation into a weekend murder.

shot to death inside his home on Early
Street Sunday night.

Today, tips led police to search
this home at 13-19 Fillmore Street.

A tactical team was called to
clear the house before investigators
could go in.

Poe's murder is encouraged to call the

Chris Johnson are all former UVa
football players who have had trouble
either with the law or academically.

But as recently as the beginning
of spring practice in April, all three
had hoped to be back in Al Groh's good
graces.

But tonight there's word that all
three are enrolling at Grambling.

The Richmond Times dispatch is
reporting that the 3 will transfer to
the Divsion one double "A" school in
Lousiana. Johnson and Redd both will
have 2 years of eligiblity left. While
Brown a highly recruited Cornerback who
started during his freshman season in
Charlottesville will have 3 years
remaining.

Former Cavalier great Shawn Moore
says he's been embarrassed by some of
the off-the-field incidents at UVa and
says its time for players to be smarter
and more accountable.

GRAPHIC=DOOLEY Former Virginia Tech head

football coach Bill Dooley is back home
in Wilmington, North Carolina after
spending the past seven weeks at the
Duke University Medical Center.

Dooley suffered a stomach
aneurysm on April 18th while at
fundraiser in Durham and the fact that
he was near Duke where he could get the
necessary level of care is the only
thing that saved his life.

One of his former players at
Carolina and his longtime assistant

Billy Hite says he's talked with Dooley
since he left the hospital, and that
the 72 year old coach sounds great and
is getting stronger everyday.

Dooley is involved in physical
therapy almost daily and still has a
ways to go in his recovery, but he is
walking well and handing more and more
tasks everyday.

Dooley led Tech to 7 straight
winning season during his tenure in
Blacksburg.

assistant Tommy Herrion has been fired
as the head man at the College of
Charleston.

2001 Season Herrion, who worked under Pete :00 Gillen in Charlottesville, just
completed his 4th season in the Low

Country of South Carolina. His Cougars
went 80 and 38, but failed to make the
postseason in each of the last three
years. He had four years left on his
contract. Those years were estimated
to be worth about a million bucks. His
firing means that Salem's Mark Byington

2003-04 Season The news is much better for
Kevin Martin who played for Page Moir
at Roanoke College. The Collinsville
native has been hired as an assistant
coach at Robert Morris in Pittsburgh.
Martin who spent two years at VMI on
the staff of Bart Bellairs, was the
head coach at Notre Dame Academy in
Middleburg, Virginia this past season.

Sports today that he's in Bradenton,
Florida working out at the Pirates'

facility awaiting his first minor
league assignment.

first round pick from Halifax County,
has signed with the team. He was
Milwaukee at Miller Park over the
weekend and is headed to the Brewers
