here...Helen Braun reunited with her
daughter, Rebecca, who she hasnt' seen
for ten years.

The hopeful mother said she never
doubted that she would see her little
girl again.

Today, Braun flew from Philadlphia
where she lives, to pick up her
daughter who was found alive and well
in South Carolina.

Ten years ago, Braun says she went
in the house to answer a phone and the
girl's father, Danny Arthur Moran, took
off with her toddler. Moran was
arrested earlier this week in Roanoke
for the kidnapping.

As Braun rode in the limo to see
her daughter, it was a brief trip down
memory lane.

GRAPHIC=Murder Investigation Lynchburg authorities have charged

three men in connection with a murder
last weekend.

But one man's whereabouts are still
unknown.

26-year-old David Devin Poe was
shot to death inside his home on Early
Street late Sunday night.

Police say at least four people
entered the home armed with handguns,
intent on confronting Poe.

Today, police arrested 23-year old
Joseph Lee Hamlet in the 900 block of
Early Street.

They're also looking for
28-year-old Carson Alfred Washington.
He's wanted for first degree murder. He
is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Another man Garlon Deshawn Cabler
is charged with robbery and firearm
charges. He was arrested on unrelated

in Roanoke.

for Life in Roanoke.

In that time, more than five million
dollars has been raised locally for
cancer research.

This year's Relay is taking place at
the Roanoke Civic Center and Salem High
School.

More that 800 survivors are taking
part this year, the largest ever, which
prompted us to ask---are we winning the

war against cancer.

As for this year's goal for Relay For
Life, it's a half million dollars,
that's slightly down from last year but
organizers say they are not
disappointed.

Natasha, the event in Salem just
wrapped up, the one at the Roanoke
Civic Center continues all night until
noon tomorrow.

NATASHA: Justin, I know this is the
second year Relay is being held at the

Civic Center, is it there to stay?

As you know Natasha, the event used
to be held at Victory Stadium and since
that's about to be demolished Relay
will stay at the Civic Center for the
time being. But organizers hope to one
day move it to one of the new stadiums
being built at Roanoke's two high
schools.

tentative agreement on a new state
budget.

The agreement signals the end of
an unprecedented stalemate just two
weeks before what would have been a
fiscal and constitutional crisis.

The deal fell into place after
rival House and Senate negotiators
agreed to continue new transportation
funding later this year.

The full House and Senate are
expected to vote on the deal early next
week.

GRAPHIC=Apartment Fire Investigators spent the day

looking for the cause of a fire that
burned a Roanoke apartment building ,
and displaced its residents.

The early morning fire spread
quickly, and sent tenants of the
building scrambling to safety.

In the light of day,
investigators examined the debris in
search of the origin and cause, but
have not released any findings.

Neighbor Georgeann Bradner said
the extent of the damage surprised her.

students are on a mission, to let folks
in the big apple know there are only a
few bad apples in Roanoke County.

28 students are in New York City over
the next few days trying to make amends
for what many consider was an
embarrassment to the Roanoke Valley.

Last month, three county students
were charged with throwing paint cans
off the roof of a hotel, hitting

several nearby police vehicles.

Today, a group from Hidden Valley
volunteered at the 17 Precinct and a
local homeless shelter.

helping his wife committ suicide after
their minivan plunged 300 feet, killing
the woman and injuring the couple's two
daughters.

charges this morning.

Police say Han, his wife and two
daughters had stopped the car along a
road in a New York state park Wednesday
evening and that Han left the minivan,

million dollar verdict this week in the
lawn- mower death of Justin Simmons.

The two million dollar judgment
was supposed to send a message to
riding mower manufacturers.

While the decision was satisfying
to the Simmons family, a local lawn
mower dealer tells us "the jury got it
wrong."

Horticultural Garden is branching out.

There are more than five acres of
gardens at Tech, and this area has
become a popular place for social
events.

That's why this pavilion had to
be built for staging large gatherings.

The 25-hundred square foot
building was dedicated in honor of
Peggy Lee Hahn, wife of T. Marshall

Hahn..a former Virginia Tech President.

They pledged a million dollar
estate gift and 475-thousand dollars in
start-up funds for the expansion of the
garden in 2004.

A Meadow Garden is also being
designed.

It will be about an acre from the
Hahn Gardens down to Duck Pond Drive.

Work on that garden will begin
this fall.

their home field to finish out the
first half of the Carolina League
season with a chance to play spoiler.
A 3-game series against the Lynchburg
Hillcats who came into tonight's game
with a 1 game lead in the Northern
Division.

the ball-park, could be a Salem Fan and
a Lynchburg Fan talking trash in baby

The Avs would get on the board in
the bottom of the first as Neil Sellars

Torbert would score from second for the
1 to nothing lead.

The Salem Defense would help out
starter Ronnie Martinez with 2 runners
on they turn the perfect 6-4-3 double
play to end the inning.

But the Hillcats would tie it up
in the top of the third, you don't have
to *CG final Lynchburg hit it hard just in the right spot. 1 Michael Carlin up the middle, Drew Salem Sutton makes the stop in short center, 3 but can't prevent the run from scoring.
But not enough Salem would get the win
3 to 1.

Albert Pujols worked out this
afternoon in Saint Louis. The
Cardinals Slugger who is on the
disabled list with a strained side
muscle, feels like he could be back on
the field sooner than the 4 to 6 weeks
that the club had predicted. Pujols
has been out since June 3rd and remains
the Major League Leader in Home Runs
and R-B-I's.

SPEED Qualifying this afternoon and
Kasey Kahne was the favorite he had the
fastest car during practice.

Kahne rolled off the grid 16th
this afternoon and layed down a lap of
1-hundred and 85 point 6-4-4 miles an
hour and took the number 1 spot on the
qualifying sheet but others had a
chance to knock him off.

One of those would be Dale
Earnhardt Junior whose rocking the
old-school paint scheme for Father's
Day weekend in Michigan. He couldn't
top Kahne but will start 6th on Sunday.

Jeff Gordon hit the wall hard
last weekend in Pocono. No problems
this afternoon with the wall in
qualifying, but he couldn't catch Kahne

either. Gordon Starts on the outside
of Row number 1. Kahne wins his fourth
pole of the season.

which put him at 12 over par and he

Majors.

Lefty still has a chance for a
win at the Open he shot a 73 that put

him at 3 over for the tournament and
his tied for seventh place. Mickelson
only had 1 birdie in his second round.

The Leader is Steve Stricker who
shot a 69 to put him at 1 under for the
round and the tourney. He is the only
player under par after 2 Rounds. And
he won't have to worry about Tiger on
the weekend.

Zoo in Ohio.

But, Mill Mountain Zoo director,
