This Morning Around 2-40 this morning Roanoke
Fire and EMS received a call that a
building was on fire and flames were
showing through the roof.

20 fire personnel arrived on the
scene at the Whitney House apartments
off of Williamson Road.

The end unit on the third floor,
which is top floor, was fully involved
in flames.

The blaze raced across the roof
line on the sub-roofing and caught
several other apartment on fire.

Officials report nine people are
displaced at this time.

No injuries to the residents or
fire personnel have been reported.

come true.

Naturally the news brings a
whirlwind of emotions...and that's
exactly what Helen Braun is going
through right now.

She now lives in Philadelphia and
hasn't seen her daughter, Rebecca, in
ten years.

Monday evening Braun received the
news that the suspected kidnapper,
Danny Arthur Moran had been found,
living under an alias here in Roanoke,
and arrested.

The very next day, the news that
Rebecca was safe, found in a mobile
home in South Carolina.

After years of staying in touch
with FBI agents and police, persistence
paid off. But Braun says she never let
doubt into her heart.

longer until their punishment.

off the roof of the Doubletree Hotel.

Without that information, defense

addresed the crowd at the 2006 annual
Roanoke Valley chapter meeting.

to a disaster because they are all
different.

Coakley Beck, decided to branch out on
her own, and create a magazine that
addresses women's issues.

While it is a casual publication
designed to read while sitting around
with friends, Beck says there's also a
serious side...

The magazine is free and you can
pick up a copy at various locations
throughout the Roanoke Valley and

beyond.

student back in the 50's.


He then coached for fourteen
years, first for Addison High School,
later William Fleming.

Some of his best games were at
Victory Stadium.

Back then, Victory Stadium was
known as the big house because it was
one of the largest facilities in the
area.

It was not unusual to see ten to
fifteen thousand fans in the stands.

The largest crowd was always
when William Fleming played Patrick
Henry.

But Victory Stadium will soon be

gone, something Coach Stuart doesn't
want to think about.

School students left yesterday for New
York.

Their mission, help restore the
schools tainted reputation.

be working in homeless shelters,
passing out lemonade at Precinct 17,
and picking up trash around the hotel
and police department in Manhattan.

They're hoping that their work
will make amends for the vandalism
incident that happened in New York last
