THE WAR Of WORDS CONCERNING THE WAR IN
IRAQ
(NAT)
FINALLY CAME TO A VOTE.
(NAT/VOTE)
VIDEO FROM HOUSE TV
After two days of passionate
debate.....the Republican controlled
House
passed a non-binding resolution to stay
the course in THE WAR TORN
COUNTRY.
It's mainly a symbolic gesture that
praises U-S troops and labels the
Iraqi war as part of the larger global
fight against terrorism.
SOTS FROM HOUSE TV
sot: Rep. Don Sherwood/R-Pennsylvania
(09:15:21)
"The cause of freedom is too important
to quit. The world and the
terrorists are watching, let's not lose
our resolve."
sot: Rep. Dan Lungren/R-California
(09:36:50)
"our presence hasn't created
terrorists, they were already there."
another short gop sot
But democrats see the resolution as
nothing more than an election year
ploy to defend the costly war and to
deflect attention away from a
timetable to bring troops home.
sot: Rep. Dennis Kucinich/D-Ohio
(09:08:30)
"Our soldiers are shooting ducks in a
shooting gallery, if we cared
about them we would bring them home."
sot: Nancy Pelosi/D-California
"stay the course? I don't think so Mr.
President. It's time to face the
facts."
(Sirgany Bridge)
The House vote comes just a day after
the Senate OVERWHELMINGLY rejected
a call to withdraw combat troops by
year's end.

And while the EMOTIONAL DEBATE IN
WASHINGTON is certain to
continue....it appears the unrest in
Iraq is too. A suicide bomber
attacked a Shiite mosque during Friday
prayers in Baghdad this morning.
At least 10 are dead and 20
wounded...despite a massive security
operation aimed at restoring order.
It's the second time the mosque has
been hit recently and comes just days
after al-qaeda promised horrific
attacks to avenge the death of their
leader abu-musab al-zarqawi.

SURPRISINGLY, SUNLIGHT BREAKS THE

BUT HELIOPLEX STOPS THAT FROM
HAPPENING.

"It allows this UVA agent to be much
more stable and act much longer--up to
five hours longer."
SUNSCREENS WITH HELIOPLEX ARE SHOWING

BUT REMEMBER THERE'S NO PERFECT
SUNBLOCK.
THE BEST PROTECTION AGAINST MELANOMA IS
TO LIMIT YOUR FUN IN THE SUN.

ABC Sports The Miami Heat, who rallied from 13
points down in the fourth
quarter to win Game Three, dominated
Dallas in Game Four, 98-to-74, to even
the series at two games each.
Miami held Dallas to seven points in
the fourth quarter. That's an all-time
N-B-A Finals low for scoring in a
quarter.
Dwyane (dwayn) Wade played huge for
the Heat. He led Miami with 36 points.
Shaquille O'Neal added 17 points and
13 rebounds. Game Five
is Sunday night, also in Miami.

GRAPHIC= 64 sounds like a lifetime away when
you're a teenager.
But Paul McCartney was only 16 when
he wrote those famous Beatles lyrics
"When I'm 64."
As Sir Paul prepares to celebrate
his birthday this weekend,
he's found the answer to the question
he asked all those years ago.
Charlie D'Agata reports.

SOUND UP: WHEN I'M SIXTY FOUR INTRO
The song has served as something of a
soundtrack for the baby boomer
generation.
NAT SOT - PAUL SINGS/INTERCUT WITH MOS
"WHEN I GET OLDER, LOSING MY HAIR..
MANY YEARS FROM NOW -- WILL YOU STILL
BE SENDING ME A VALENTINE,
BIRTHDAY GREETINGS - BOTTLE OF WINE..
WILL YOU STILL NEED ME, WILL YOU STILL
FEED ME... WHEN I'M 64.. "
As Sir Paul celebrates reaching that
magic milestone on his birthday
Sunday...he HASN'T lost his hair...or
his touch...
Over the years from the Fab Four to
knighthood...the man, the
music...and the song...have stood the
test of time.
PETE PAHIDES/CHIEF ROCK CRITIC, THE
TIMES
THE GENIUS OF IT WAS, I DON'T THINK A
LOT OF PEOPLE IN THEIR 20'S KNOW
HOW IT FEELS TO BE 64, BUT IT HAS THAT
BITTERSWEET QUALITY - THAT KIND
OF POIGNANCY ABOUT IT.
ON CAMERA BRIDGE (ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS
ZEBRA CROSSING) CHARLIE
D'AGATA/LONDON
WHEN HE RECORDED THE SONG ALMOST 40
YEARS AGO HERE AT THE FAMOUS ABBEY
ROAD STUDIOS IN LONDON, HE INSISTED IT
WASN'T A SONG MAKING FUN OF
GROWING OLD, IT WAS A LOVE SONG ABOUT
GROWING OLD TOGETHER.
And when Paul wed his true love,
Linda...it looked like a pretty good
possibility...
FILE: 1969
NATPOP: REPORTER: PAUL, WHAT DOES IT
FEEL LIKE TO BE MARRIED AT LAST?
PAUL: IT FEELS FINE THANK YOU.
The marriage lasted almost 30 years,
until Linda succumbed to cancer in
1998.
Now he's headed for a messy and costly
divorce from his SECOND wife,
Heather Mills.
The sad irony... the young man who
wrote about an age that once seemed
so distant...finds himself there at
last, and alone.
SOUND UP: WILL YOU STILL NEED ME...WILL
YOU STILL FEED ME WHEN I'M SIXTY
FOUR? (END ON BUMP BUMP...NOT/NOT ON
INSTRUMENTAL END)
