did.

On May first 19-60, he was shot
down over the Soviet Union,
interrogated for 3 months, and tried by
the soviets.

Powers was found guilty and
sentenced to 10 years in prison.

He was later exchanged for a
Soviet spy in 19-62.

reached a

tentative agreement on a new state

budget.

Yesterday's compromise came after
months of bickering and just two weeks
short of what would have been a fiscal
and constitutional crisis.

The 72-BILLION dollar, two-year
spending plan now must get full House
and Senate approval, gubernatorial
review and legislative reconsideration
of vetoes and amendments by June 30th.

The rival House and Senate
negotiators managed to settle on the
deal after they agreed to continue new

Discovery's seven-member crew
will try out inspection methods and

Republic, the USA tried to bounce back
in the World Cup today, against Italy,
the three time World Cup Champs. The
Americans got a bit of good news before

the game as Ghana upset the Czech
Republic in the group.

ABC Sports Alberton Gilardino put the :00 Italians in front in the 22nd minute
using his noggin' on the free kick,
putting the ball in the back of the
onion bag for a 1-nil lead.

defelected into the net off the leg of
Italy's Christian Zaccardo for an own
goal and a 1-all tie.

That's when things got chippie.
Daniele DeRossi throws the elbow to the
face of Brian McBride, who was bloodied

DeRossi was ejected with a red
