This was the scene over Mason's Creek
in Catawba around four o'clock this
afternoon.

The situation got so bad counselors
at the Dark Hollow Day Camp on Route
311 decided to evacuate.

As they were leaving, the road washed
out trapping nearly a hundred campers.

Everyone, however, is safe.

The campers weren't the only ones
affected.

A number of homes on Route 311 and
Bradshaw Road were also flooded.

Having lived in her mobile home for
only two years, Wanda Keaton is
experiencing what it's like to live
next door to the Roanoke River for the
very first time.

And she doesn't like it.

The city plans to buy out the park so

along 9th Street and Riverland Road.

Officials say so far that part of the
plan is working.

bracing for the James River to reach
major flood stage some time tomorrow
morning.

The National Weather Service is
predicting the James will reach 28 feet
just upstream from Lynchburg early
Wednesday... that's 13 feet higher than
normal.

Levels near downtown are expected

between 23 and 25 feet.

Emergency services officials say
that means some riverfront businesses
may have to move some inventory and
machinery to higher ground.

The city may also have to shut down
its sewage treatment plant and close
the Percival's Island bike trail.

the owner of a nail Salon today. He's
accused of sexually abusing customers.

Sky Nails Salon.

He's charged with one count of
sexual battery.

The alleged victim is a woman.

faces a new, secret indictment.

It's a four-and-a-half million
dollar shredder that runs -in part- on
bio-diesel fuels, that's supposed to
reduce toxic emissions.

The shredder is powered by two
re-cycled locomotive engines, housed
inside a building which is topped by
Roanoke's re-cycled airport control
tower.
