ANCHOR=NATASHA statewide emergency in the wake of

heavy rains, flooding, and mudslides

throughout Virginia.

Kaine is directing state agencies
to take all necessary actions to aid in
the recovery stemming from the tropical
weather over the past few days.

up to 200-thousand have been ordered to
evacuate from their homes in the
Northeast.

12 miles of the Pennsylvania Turnpike
in the Willow Grove area was shut

floating trapped people to safety.

Meanwhile, In Maryland, rescuers

hiring a man to kill Thomas' wife,
Lisa, back in 2000.

alleged hitman, Billy Ray Manns
recanted his story last week.

Manns testified he lied about
being paid to kill Thomas, and that he

Workers got a late start thanks to
this week's heavy rains and Tuesday's
all star game at the baseball stadium.

deem a "significant amount" of money
from a Campbell County fire department.

police in February that some of the
agency's money was missing.

Campbell County prosecutor Neil
Vener (VENN-urr) says the investigation

Homestead's Cascades course.
