Muhammed Thomas was sentenced
last fall to life in prison for hiring
a man to kill his wife Lisa back in
2000.

But, Martinsville Commonwealth's
Attorney Joan Ziglar announced today
the charges against Thomas have been
dropped.

The decision comes a week after
the alleged hitman, Billy Ray Manns
testified in court that neither Thomas,
nor his co-defendant Malvester Dixon
had anything to do with the murder, and
that he acted alone.

Creek in Maryland...searching for two
teenage boys who disappeared

Police say the normally calm creek
turned very treacherous from all the

rain and debris blown into it.

Another incident overnight in Frederick
County left 3 young people dead.

Two men and a woman were killed when
flood waters swept them from the

back of a pickup truck.

Witnesses say a rope was thrown to the
victims, but they were unable to

hold on.

And in Montgomery County, Maryland more
than 2000 people are evacuated

from the homes..waiting to see if a
fragile dam holds.

After days of torrential

rains.....there seems to be a break in
the

clouds .. But the heavy downpours and
fierce flooding have left their

mark all across the northeast.

Thousands have been forced from their
homes in Pennsylvania.. where

heavy rains have caused some of the
worst flooding in 50 years. ...and

officials fear even bigger problems...
when several rivers crest later

this week.

The nasty weather also paid a visit to
upstate New York...especially

Binghamton... where more than 4 inches
of rain fell Tuesday.

While it's been a soggy start to summer

looking into how a large amount of
money was apparently stolen from the
funds of a Campbell County fire
department.

Members of the Evington Volunteer
Fire Department contacted authorities
in February about the missing money.

The state's investigation is
continuing, but commonwealth's attorney
Neil Vener (VENN-urr) calls it -quote-
"a significant amount of money".

He does plan to bring his
evidence to a grand jury in August to
seek an indictment.

today would not comment on the

accused of abusing one of his clients
made his first court appearance this
morning.

Minh (Min) "Kenny" Tran is
charged with one count of sexual
battery.

Police say the incident involved
a female client, and happened inside
his nail salon on March 31st.

In court this morning, Tran said
he did not understand English.

The judge did not believe him and
appointed him an attorney.

Police are still looking into at
least a dozen complaints from female
clients.

Investigators say more charges

are likely.

Tran's wife says he is not
guilty.

able to get in 18 holes at the
Homestead's Cascades course today.

One of the world's premier
mountain layouts isn't overly long, but
it is providing a stiff challenge for
the players this week. There aren't
many level lies on the course and you
have to know where to place the ball.

2006 Season Brian O'Connor's name is sure to

be on the short list to replace
Mainieri in South Bend. O'Connor was
an assistant at Notre Dame for 9
seasons before taking over in
Charlottesville.

In his 3 Seasons as a Head Coach
at U-V-A, O'Connor has compiled a
record of 132 wins and 50 losses and
made it to the N-C-A-A's all 3 years,
and in the process making the Wahoos
into a Top 25 team.

The Cavaliers have served as a
host team in the N-C-A-A Regionals 2 of
the past 3 seasons, that is the only 2
times that has happened in the
Program's History.

O'Connor grew up in Iowa and
played his college ball at Creighton
which is in Nebraska so he is familiar
with the Mid-West.

Montgomery County for its regional
intermodal facility.

The facility will help Norfolk
Southern expand its business in the
"Heartland Corridor."

A site of 50 acres along
interstate 81 in Montgomery County has
been selected.

The cost of the facility will be
about 18 million dollars.

The state will pay for 70-percent
of the property.

If all goes according to plan,
the facility will be completed by 2010.
