GRAPHIC=Flooding Rescuers in Alleghany County will
resume the search this morning for a
little girl who went missing yesterday.

The eight-year-old went into the
water just after one o'clock yesterday
in the Callahan section of the county.
According to reports she was
playing near a stream on her family's
property off of Dunlap Creek Road when
she went in.
Sheriff Dale Muterspaugh
MOO-ters-pall says another girl was
with the child and tried to grab her,
but couldn't hold on.
The eight-year-old was last seen
in the water going through a culvert.
The sherfiff says she was wearing
a green shirt and blue jeans. If you
live along the river between Covington
and Clifton Forge and see something in
the water...

GRAPHIC=Hold The James River is expected to
reach minor flood stage in central
Virginia some time this morning.

The National Weather Service is
predicting the James will reach 28 feet
just upstream from Lynchburg early
today.. that's 13 feet higher than
normal.
Levels near downtown are expected
around 18 feet.
Emergency services officials say
that means some riverfront businesses
may have to move some inventory and
machinery to higher ground.
The city may also have to shut
down its sewage treatment plant and
close the Percival's Island bike trail.

yesterday when the river rose above
flood stage, flooding parts of Victory
stadium.
Many consider that to be ironic
since the stadium is now in the process
of being torn down.

GRAPHIC=Fire Blacksburg firefighters responded
to a fire at Eats Natural Foods last
night.
When firefighters arrived they
found heavy smoke coming from the eaves
of the building.
Crews quickly worked to bring the
fire under control.
The damage is estimated at
35-thousand dollars.

arrested the owner of a nail Salon.
He's accused of sexually
abusing customers.

VO-NAT Minh Min "Kenny" Tran owns the
Sky Nails Salon.
He's charged with one count of
sexual battery.

:06 afternoon at his Salon.
The alleged victim says she was
assaulted in the Salon.
Since we first reported this
story last Friday, at least a dozen
more woman have come forward.
Police say they are investigating
all those complaints, and more charges
are possible.

Lamarre faces a new, secret indictment.

returned against Gilbert Dennis Hadden
June 15th.
The same day... the court sealed
the entire case.

regarding Lamarre's alleged supplier

District Court's web site.
The Hadden case listed more than
two dozen entries on line.
Now there is no public record of
it... except that the Court still has

at Lewis-Gale Medical Center.

affected by the layoffs, because some
positions were already vacant.
A spokeswoman for Lewis-Gale says
the cutbacks will help the hospital
make the most efficient use of its
resources without affecting patient
care.
The employees have been given
severance packages.
They will also have the
opportunity to apply for other
positions within the hospital, or with
third party contractors.

scout camp in Roanoke County.

This was the scene over Mason's
Creek in Catawba around four o'clock
yesterday afternoon.
The situation got so bad
counselors at the Dark Hollow Day Camp
on Route 311 decided to evacuate.
As they were leaving, the road
washed out trapping nearly a hundred
campers.
Everyone, however, is safe.
The campers weren't the only ones
affected.
A number of homes on Route 311
and Bradshaw Road were also flooded.
