comes a flood of problems.
Two canoers learned that the hard
way last night on the Roanoke River.

County are also hoping for a happy
ending .....They'll resume the search
this morning for a little girl who went
missing yesterday.

The eight-year-old went into the
water just after one o'clock in the
Callahan section of the county.
According to reports she was
playing near a stream on her family's
property off Dunlap Creek Road when she
went in.
Sheriff Dale Muterspaugh
MOO-ters-pall says another girl was
with the child and tried to grab her,
but couldn't hold on.
The eight-year-old was last seen
in the water going through a culvert.
Rescue crews from the county and
surrounding areas were called in.
The sheriff says the search was
called off yesterday at dusk and will
resume today at 7 o-clock.

Christiansburg Police arrested Minh
Kenny Tran at his nail Salon on Tuesday
afternoon. He's charged with one count
of Sexual Battery.

Police say the alleged victim is a
woman and the abuse happened inside the
Sky Nails Salon.
Two weeks ago police searched the
business and took surveillance video
tapes and DVD's. They were
investigating claims he inappropriately
touched a 12 year old girl and at least
three other woman.
Since we first reported the
investigation on Friday, police say

yesterday and fined an undisclosed
amount for his aggressive actions

The city plans to buy out the park so
it can widen the Roanoke River for
PHASE TWO of its flood reduction plan.
The same way it did three months ago
along 9th Street and Riverland Road.
Officials say so far that part of the
plan is working.

The 50-year-old Alley had confessed
to killing a 19-year-old female

wasn't responsible for the murder

resume the search this morning for a
little girl who went missing yesterday.

water just after one o'clock in the
Callahan section of the county.
According to reports she was
playing near a stream on her family's
property off of Dunlap Creek Road when
she went in.
Sheriff Dale Muterspaugh
MOO-ters-pall says another girl was
with the child and tried to grab her,
but couldn't hold on.
The eight-year-old was last seen
in the water going through a culvert.
Rescue crews from the county and
surrounding areas were called in.
The sheriff says the search was
called off yesterday at dusk and will

A spokeswoman for Lewis-Gale says the

This was the scene over Mason's Creek
in Catawba around four o'clock
yesterday afternoon.
The situation got so bad counselors
at the Dark Hollow Day Camp on Route
311 decided to evacuate.
As they were leaving, the road washed
out trapping nearly a hundred campers.
Everyone, however, is safe.
The campers weren't the only ones
affected.
A number of homes on Route 311 and
Bradshaw Road were also flooded.

this morning for a little girl who went
missing yesterday.

water just after one o'clock in the
Callahan section of the county.
According to reports she was
playing near a stream on her family's
property off of Dunlap Creek Road when
she went in.

MOO-ters-pall says another girl was
with the child and tried to grab her,
but couldn't hold on.
The eight-year-old was last seen
in the water going through a culvert.
Rescue crews from the county and
surrounding areas were called in.
The sheriff says the search was
called off yesterday at dusk and will

He's accused of sexually
abusing customers.

son died from medical complications.

Zachary, passed away five years ago at
an early age.
His love of art and music
inspired the Davis's to support
programs for children in his name.

The name comes from the
children's Bible song that Zach loved
to sing.
In her studio, Amy designs and
creates hand painted childrens
keepsakes.

Some of the proceeds from the
sale of Light of Mine Designs go to the
Davis's Little Star Outreach which
helps provide funding for programs for
children with special needs in the
areas of music and creative arts.

state's first execution in 45 years.

court lifted a stay granted just hours
earlier for convicted killer and rapist
Sedley Alley.
The 50-year-old Alley had confessed
to killing a 19-year-old female
Marine in 19- 85, while she was jogging
near a Navy base north of Memphis.
During his trial, Alley claimed he
wasn't responsible for the murder
because he had multiple personalities.

Rescuers in Alleghany County are about
to resume the search for an 8 year old
girl who went missing yesterday
afternoon. According to reports, the
child was playing near a stream on her
family's property off of Dunlap Creek
Road when she went in.
The girl was last seen in the
water going through a culvert.

ENG#2 Christiansburg Police have arrested the
owner of Sky Nails Salon. Minh Min
"Kenny" Tran is accused of sexually
abusing customers. .The alleged victim
is a woman who told authorities she was
assualted in the salon. Police say
they're investigating complaints from
at least a dozen other women, and more
charges are possible.
