GRAPHIC=Flooding Rescuers in Alleghany County are

still searching at this hour for a
small girl, who was swept away by flood
waters yesterday.

Eight year old Nikki Godbold went
into the water just after one o'clock
in the Callahan section of the county.

According to reports, she was
playing near a stream on her family's
property off Dunlap Creek Road when she
went in.

Sheriff Dale Muterspaugh
MOO-ters-pall says two girls were with
Godbold.

One managed to grab her, but
couldn't hold on.

The other girl ran to get help.

Authorities are using a state
police helicopter to aid in the search.

The sherfiff says Nikki Godbold was
wearing a green shirt and blue jeans.

night.

intermodal facility.

The facility will help Norfolk
Southern expand its business in the
"Heartland Corridor."

A site of 50 acres along
interstate 81 in Montgomery County has
been selected.

about 18 million dollars.

The state will pay for 70-percent
of the property.

If all goes according to plan,
the facility will be completed by 2010.

She'd be happy to keep doing it

The pounding rains along the east
coast that have forced thousands from
their homes, are also blamed for at
least five deaths.

In Maryland, officials ordered
more than 22- hundred people from their
homes because of a rising lake.

Flood waters turned deadly overnight in
Maryland when three young adults

were washed out of the bed of a pickup
truck. The victims had just been

rescued from high water when another
surge swept them away.

In Frederick County...the search has
resumed this morning for two

teenagers who may have tried to swim in
a creek Tuesday night.

Police have found a bicycle and some
clothing near the creek, but

there's no sign of the missing kids.

After days of torrential
rains.....there now seems to be a
break... but

its leaving behind swollen rivers ..
And in one case.. The high water is

putting so much pressure on a dam..
experts fear ot could give way

anytime.

"As midnight approached they began to
observe leakage and seepage

through the dam."

And that threat is not being taken
lightly....more than 2200 people

living near the dam in Rockville,
Maryland have been evacuated.

It's the same in virginia where 200
roads are closed because of

flooding..'

and upstate New York is seeing some of
the worst flooding on record..

hundreds have been forced from their
homes and many counties have

declared states of emergency .

all across the Northeast...the early
days of summer are beginning to be

memorable for all the wrong reasons.

injury is not something J.J. Redick
needs.

VO-NAT According to published reports,

the former Duke star has a herniated
disk in his back, which is pressing on
the nerve.

Redick has dismissed any rumors
about needing surgery for the injury
and says after receiving a cortisone
shot, he has been pain- free for a
week.

He is expected to play in the NBA
summer league and be at team trials for
the USA Basketball National Team.
