Flooding continues up north, and
all of that flood water from the
Susquehanna River
ENG=1 VO NAT
VO NAT had to go somewhere. It's ended
up in the Chesapeake Bay and that could
spell trouble ahead. Millions of
gallons of water are headed into the
Bay, but so are millions of tons of
sediment that washed from farm fields,
eroded stream beds and land that had
been cleared for development.
The last time the Bay choked with
sediment was after Hurricane Ivan in
2004.
ENG=2 VO NAT
VO NAT Dirt and debris aren't the only
things swept away by the floodwaters.
Imagine finding this critter in your
home while cleaning up after a flood.
It was certainly an unlikely find in
New Jersey. Someone's pet alligator was
left in the wake of the storms.
Animal control workers wisked him
away from safety. No word on who the
owner is, but the gator is said to be
doing well.
