abruptly resigned last month as
Roanoke's Public Information Officer.

He and his wife were indicted
today on a charge of Felony Child
Neglect.

suddenly gone the next day.

Brown had been Roanoke's Director
of Communications for about two years.

Donald Caldwell says there's some
question about how Chase was injured.

Prosecutor Caldwell says the
child is 12-months old and had
sustained multiple bruises and
fractures.

property will become part of Carilion
Roanoke Memorial Hospital were
dispelled this afternoon.

property for municipal use.

What exactly will be developed in
that area is still up for debate, but
currently an amphitheatre feasibility
study is underway and expected to be

finished in September.

accused of molesting one of his clients
is out of jail tonight.

"Kenny" Tran stands charged with
one count of felony sexual battery.

Police say Tran abused a woman
inside his Sky Nails salon.

Investigators are looking into
more than a dozen complaints.

Tran was denied bond Friday in
General District court, but that
decision was over-turned today by a

Circuit judge.

The judge set bond for Tran at
75-hundred dollars.

Pulaski County are testing horses after
two of them were diagnosed with an
incurable viral disease.

These are the two horses, age 25
and 31.

They had been sharing a pasture.
Their owners decided to euthanize them,
so nearby horses didn't catch the
disease.

They tested positve for Equine
(E-quine) Infectious Anemia from blood
samples submitted to the Wytheville
Regional Animal Health Laboratory.

None of the other horses tested
positive.

Catcher Jay Osborne didn't play in this
season was the one that the Head
Baseball Coach for U-V-A Wise came to
see.

Osborne signed to play baseball for
Hank Banner the coach that came to see
that game from the school located in
Western Virginia.

Osborne has played 4 seasons for
the Titans where he batted
3-thirty-three this season with an
on-base percentage of 472.

staff and made many of the calls to the
infield.

roster has no players from Southwest
Virginia. Adding Osborne to the mix is
something that the coach is hoping will
lead to more in roads to the athletes
here in Southwest Virginia which is
part of an effort by the schools entire
athletic program to recruit this area
heavily.

Open they play an 18 hole playoff the
day after the Final Round.

ESPN That was the case for Pat Hurst
and Annika Sorenstam were tied at Even
par after 72 Holes.

They didn't stay tied for very
long. On the very first Hole Hurst
would miss her Putt for Par and drop to
1 over.

Sorenstam who hit it close on
number 1 had a chance to make Birdie
and she would not misse and just like
that she was up 2 strokes after 1 hole.

Annika wouldn't let Hurst back in
the Match from then on out as she had 3
birdies total on her day off-set by
just 2 Bogeys for a 1 under par round.

Hurst never made a run partly
because she didn't make a Birdie until
the 18th hole and she made it from
deep. Hurst finished her round at 3
over par and she would have to settle
for the Runner-Up Spot.

All Annika had to do was tap in
for par and she wins her 3rd U.S. Open
Title and first since 1996. Sorenstam
has now won 15 of the 20 Playoffs that
she has played in.

wrestlers were stopped for speeding
last night in Hanging Rock, Ohio and
when they were pulled over police found
drugs in their possession.

Robert Szatowski and Terry Brunk
known to WWE and ECW fans as Ron Van
Dam and Sabu were arrested after police
found 18 grams of marijuana, five
tablets of a prescription pain killer
and nine other pills in their
possession.

Both wrestlers were in Roanoke
just last Tuesday.
