into the water while rafting with a
friend in the James River.

days without success, but this morning
a patrol from the Department of Game

and Inland Fisheries spotted his body
in an area known as Balcony Falls.

It was found about 150 yards from

gas prices...

For a few hours this afternoon, a
filling station there was bringing back
the days when gasoline was less than
two dollars a gallon.

Chamblissburg Supply was mobbed
during the "gas sale," and many
customers came prepared.

Station owner Ralph Rasoul
expects to lose a few hundred dollars
on the sale, but he says he wanted to
help his custemers enjoy the Fourth of
July.

slate of festivities for the Fourth of
July. And for some people, the day
started early with a flight over
Rockbridge County.

Morning fog delayed the launch of
the B-B and T balloon rally, but when
the sun finally broke through, a dozen
hot air balloons began to lift off from
the parade ground at Virginia Military
Institute.

Connie Campbell received a
balloon ride as a birthday present from
her family.
