The Roanoke Star is more than
fifty years old and city leaders say it
needs a major facelift.
The city will spend nearly a
hundred thousand dollars completely
upgrading the electrical system.
The work should begin next month
and will be completed by October.
City leaders say the upgrades are
too extensive to keep the Star shining
during construction so it will have to
go dark for at least a month.
