They indicated Davis had gotten away
from them by putting the gun to his own

The document indicates Vinton police

him about a burglary in which Davis was

Federal agents say Davis admitted he's

Officials there says folks who
need help are pressed for money because
many parents are used to relying on
free or reduced breakfast and lunches
during the school year.

It also seems high gas prices are
taking a toll.

GRAPHIC=AVS Back in 1985 Kelvin Bowles bought

Salem's minor league baseball team and
saved it from leaving the valley.

Today, the Franlin County
businessman announced that - after 20

plus years - he is selling the Salem
Avalanche to a pair of Atlanta-based
businessmen known as Hardball Capital.

Bowles says negotiations have
been going on since last November and
that it was simply time to step step
down.

sale of the Avalanche were released,

the Myrtle Beach Pelicans sold for more

By the way before Bowles bought
the team in the mid-80s - the ownership
group included none other than Country

Reed.
