stand-by, but has not been used at this

Despite international calls for
restraint...both Israel and Hezbollah
militants are pushing forward with a
barrage of rocket attacks.

At least ten rockets from Lebanon hit
this Israeli border town Friday.
Several buildings were damaged, but
there were no reports of
causalities. More than 200 rockets
have hit northern Israel in the past
2 days.

There's also considerable damage on the
Lebanese side of the border.
Israel is said to be targeting
Lebanon's infrastructure where rockets
could be stored. But some missiles are
hitting residential buildings.
At least three people died overnight
and Israel is promising to match

Israel's military has been on the
offensive against Lebanon since two of
its soldiers were captured by Hezbollah

mobilize in that region as well.

Here at the United Nations, the
Security Council is meeting today to
discuss the mideast situation. During
a phone call to UN Secretary
General Kofi Annan, Israel's Prime
minister said his country will not
halt attacks until Hezbollah is
disarmed.

At least 61 people have died in

history went home disappointed.

final bricks from Victory Stadium last
night.
Apparently, around eight o'clock
Parks and Rec ran out of bricks and
ended the giveaway.
Nearly thirty people then ripped open
the fence at Victory Stadium and took a
brick for themselves.
Police showed up a short time later
and ran everyone off the property.

GRAPHIC=None Veteran actor Red Buttons has died.

VO-NAT Buttons began as the youngest comic
in the old hotels in New York's
Catskill Mountains.
He ended up starring in movies and
television.
Despite his reputation as a
comedian, he won the best supporting
actor Oscar in 1957, for a dramatic
role in "Sayonara."
But he was never far from his
comedic roots.
Buttons had his own weekly T-V show
back in 1952.
He was also a fixture on the old
Dean Martin Celebrity roasts.
Buttons was nominated for an Emmy
last year for his work on "E-R."
His publicist says the 87 year old
actor died in his Los Angeles area home
of vascular disease.

norm in Los Angeles.
But this one was all wet--

Police started chasing the car last
night, because they thought it was
stolen.
The pursuit ended dramatically, when
the fleeing car hit another car, a
pole, and then a fire hydrant-- sending
water gushing into the air.
Three people were inside the car.
One passenger immediately crawled out
of the vehicle- and landed in a puddle
of water.
Police removed the other two people
from the car.

Yesterday, the Franklin County
businessman announced he is selling the
Avalanche to a pair of Atlanta-based
businessmen known as Hardball Capital.
Bowles says negotiations have
been going on since last November, and
that it was simply time to step down.
