Yesterday The build-up happened around
seven A-M in the Sections residence
halls -- sending more than a hundred
people to area hospitals.

They included teenagers from an
Upward Bound program, and participants
from the "Power in the Spirit" Lutheran
conference.

One man died following the
exposure.

Today, only one patient remains
at Lewis-Gale Hospital.

We're told that patient has been
upgraded from critical to stable
condition.

These sword-swinging knights
looked real enough, especially to the
young children who watched the
impressive demonstration.

The *Medieval Fair* in Preston
Park was hosted by Roanoke's Public
Libraries as part of its summer theme
titled "Once Upon a Time."

The demonstrations were put on by
the Society for Creative *Anachronism*
-- which prides itself on authenticity.

Everything from the juggling to
the medieval arts and crafts are things
you might have run across in the years
between 600 and 1600 A-D.
