Friday A college spokesperson says in a
statement the school installed the
alarms in several of its residence
halls -- as a temporary safety measure
while waiting for a more permanent
system.

One person remains in stable
condition at Lewis-Gale hospital, but
is improving.

And upward bound students who
were on campus during the incident
returned today.

The students were moved into
different residence halls for the
remainder of the program.

OLN Stage 14 of the Tour de France :00 turned ugly today about 25 miles from
the finish in the foothills of the
Alps.

David Canada and Rik Verbrugghe
lost control of their bikes on a right
hand turn, crashing, sending both
riders to the hospital. German rider
Mathias Kessler then plowed into Canada
and over a safety barrier. Canada
suffered a broken collarbone while
Verbrugghe broke his leg and sustained

a laceration on his left arm.

Frenchman Pierrick Fedrigo won
the stage. Spain's Oscar Pereiro is
still the overall leader.
