Lebanese fighters have fired
rockets across the border into the
northern Israeli city of Haifa HY'-fuh.

At least eight people are dead
and seven other wounded after the blast
at a train depot.

Israel's Prime Minister says the
attack will have "far-reaching
consequences," hinting at an even wider
response.

Soon after today's attack,
Israeli warplanes struck the
guerrillas' south Beirut stronghold,
rocking the Lebanese capital.

Planes dropped warning leaflets

Friday The build-up happened around
seven o'clock Friday morning in the
Sections residence halls -- sending
more than one-hundred people to area
hospitals.

They included teenagers from an

One man died following the

Today, only one patient remains
at Lewis-Gale Hospital.

GRAPHIC=None "May elections" could soon be a

thing of the past in Martinsville.

The city is now considering
whether it wants to move its city
council elections from May to November
-- to help improve voter participation.

This past May, voter turnout was
only 19-percent, compared to the
average 50-percent in November.

City council must first hold a
public hearing, before filing a request
to the General Assembly to change its

*municipal* charter.
