This week workers put up a
lined-buoy system in front of the low
head dam on the Maury River.
They also intalled two additional
warning buoys and another warning sign.
Now that the buoy system has been
put in place, the swimming ban has been
lifted.
But more safety measures could
follow.
The city is exploring other
possibilities, including the removal of
the dam.

Blue Hills Golf Club Leader Dot Bolling played in the
final group with her closest
competitior Cathi Carter.
Carter entered the final round 7
strokes behind Dot. Carter showed off
some nice iron play on her way to
shooting a 72. She hit this approach
to the 16th green, But would not have
enough to catch the leader.
Dot showed how to finish off a
title winning round as she drains the
long putt on the 17th Hole for a Birdie
2 on the Par 3.
Not wanting to leave herself such
a long putt on the final Hole. Dot on
18 her 3rd shot on the Par 5. She has
just the right distance this hits the
side of the hole and just hops out,
almost had an eagle, would tap it in
for Birdie and wins the City County
Championship.

Wednesday Apparently local residents got
worried and called police when they saw
a man walking an alligator into a room
at the Motel Six.
When police showed up they found
a possum, a tortoise, a number of
snakes, and an alligator...all in one
room.
They checked the man out and he
apparently had all the paper work for
them.
As for the Motel Six... they had
no problems with the man and his
animals spending the night.
