first driver since Jeff Gordon at
Martinsville in 2-thousand 3 to win
both races at a Track starting both
from the pole.
The defending series champion
Tony Stewart moved back into the top 10
in points but he had to overcome some
obstacles. The first being contact
with Clint Bowyer who then runs into
Carl Edwards. Stewart was blackflagged
and lost a lap due to rough driving.
Dale Earnhardt Junior had
problems last week with a blown motor.
This week his problems were caused by
Dave Blaney who bumped him from behind
sending Junior into the wall and to
another bad finish. He is currently
out of the top 10 in points.
No Problems for Hamlin who
dominanted this race from start to
finish and picks up his second career
Nextel Cup Victory. Hamlin also moves
up 4 spots in the Standings to 8th and
right now would qualify for the Chase
for the Championship. And well his
driving is good at Pocono, the car he
was driving is even better.

(END SOT) series for John Andretti is not
unchartered terretory for the 13 year
cup veteran. However, this is his first
full season in Nascar's junior circut,
which takes time to get accustomed.
"The Busch cars drive a
little...Martinsville is not one of
them." (:27)
In 1999, Andretti won the Goody's 500
spring race at the half-mile oval
piloting Richard Petty's famous number
43. Now he is passing on his expertise
to fellow rookies in the Busch series.

There wasn't really a question at
Willow Oaks Country Club at least for
this year.
Chip Sullivan the Pro at Ashley
Plantation in Daleville once again had
a good showing at the State Open. His
Final round of 5-under par included a
Biridie on 18 and that was good for a
second place finish.
The Class of the field was Faber
Jamerson the J-M-U grad who won the
State Open as an amatuer, added another
title win to the trophy case as a Pro.
He will take the title back to Poplar
Grove in Amherst. Jamerson cruised to
a 6 stroke victory by shooting 4 under
par on the final round and that gave
him a total of 16 under par.

ABC Woods began the day with a 1
stroke lead and he really didn't have
much competition.
The only player to somewhat stand
up to Tiger was Chris Dimarco who shot
a 4 under par round in the group in
front of Woods but that would be good
for second place.
Tiger did DiMarco 1 shot better
on the day and 2 over the tournament to
finish at 18 under overall and retain
the Claret Jug. Woods sealed the deal
with a couple of great iron shots
coming down the stretch on the Back 9.

Thousands gathered in Darwin,
Australia to watch the 32nd annual
"Beer Can Regatta."
The teams spent months building
their boats from thousands of empty
beer and soft drink cans.
The event began when workers
rebuilding the city after it was
devastated by a cyclone in 1975,
decided it would be a fun way to
recycle garbage.
Proceeds from the regatta will go
toward the purchase of a new ambulance
for the community.
