released.
When the judge pressed the point,
the prosecutor did not ask for
continued detention.

Honaker is cooperating with federal
agents in the on-going investigation.
Honaker's wife and mother have
said he's the one who revived Lamarre
the night the former TV weatherman took
a near-fatal overdose.
In a brief private conversation
following his release today, Honaker
did not dispute that account, but
indicated he wasn't the only one
working to resuscitate Lamarre.

Employees of the company say
their experts haven't pinpointed the
cause... and city investigators say it
may be weeks before they reveal any
conclusions about the incident.
The company operates a solvent
recovery facility and it was early
Saturday morning, when an explosion at
the plant rocked southeast Roanoke.

Martinsville ends with a car wreck and
one man dead.
Henry County investigators say it
appeared the driver.. 32 year old
Jeffrey Dean Deskins was driving
drunk....so they tried to pull him
over.

off and was driving erratically and

They say he hit a guardrail,
rammed a police cruiser and hit a deer,

Regional Medical Center is starting to
pay off for residents in Southside.

dollars to be distributed by a new
non-profit Foundation serving the
Danville area.
But it also led to a potential two
million dollar penalty by the I-R-S.
So the Foundation cut a deal that
eliminates the penalty but requires it
to allocate more than 16-million
dollars to four area projects within
the next year.

is taking place in Ponte Vedra, Florida
this week with coaches from all 12
teams and select players from each
school.
This afternoon the preseason
picks were announced.

The Hokies were picked to win the
Coastal last year, this preseason they
are second behind Miami.
Georgia Tech comes in right after
Virginia Tech, while UVA edged Carolina
for the fourth spot by a point. And
Duke is dead last.

In the Atlantic Division -
Florida State and Clemson lead the way,
while Boston College got a couple of
first place votes.
Maryland, N.C. State and Wake
Forest hold down the bottom three spots
