Chip Sullivan, the Pro at Ashley
Plantation in Daleville, once again had
a good showing at the State Open.

His Final round of 5-under par
included a Birdie on 18, and that was
good for a second place finish.

The Class of the field was Faber
Jamerson, the J-M-U grad who won the
State Open as an amateur, added another
title win to the trophy case as a Pro.

He will take the title back to
Poplar Grove in Amherst.

Jamerson cruised to a 6 stroke
victory by shooting 4 under par on the
final round, and that gave him a total
of 16 under par.

GRAPHIC=British Open Tiger Woods was looking to add

another Major Championship to his
collection.

Woods has 10 Career wins in the
majors--

If he could get number 11 at the
British Open, it would move him into a

tie for second on the career list.

ABC Woods began the day with a 1
stroke lead, and he really didn't have
much competition.

The only player to somewhat stand
up to Tiger was Chris Dimarco, who shot
a 4 under par round in the group in
front of Woods.

But that would be good for second
place.

Tiger did DiMarco 1 shot better
on the day, and 2 over the tournament
to finish at 18 under.

Woods sealed the deal with a couple
of great iron shots coming down the
stretch on the Back 9.
