A court ruled the boy must undergo
conventional treatment.. even though he

another crime.

He's had several felony convictions
for drug-use and theft.
Part of the booking process on a
possession charge last year included
D-N-A.
That led to a cold hit in the lab-
breaking a cold case that had gone
unsolved since 1987... the murder of
Bertha Sommardahl.
Crowder was sentenced today to LIFE
in prison.

The ACC has forged a new
exclusive agreement with the Orange
Bowl that guarantees that the
conference champion will play in the
January Bowl game each year.
Commissioner John Swofford made
the announcement this afternoon as the
ACC meetings wrapped up in Ponte Vedra.

down summer, but the Cave Spring
Product did get some good news today.

March 2006 Redick was named the A-C-C's Male
Athlete of the year after his Senior
Year Performance at Duke.
Redick beat out a field of 11
other Conference Male Athletes for the
Award and it was stiff competition as
every single nominee was an
All-American.
Redick broke a number of records
this past season including the A-C-C's
All-Time Scoring Record and the N-C
Double "A" record for Most 3-pointers
which was previously held by another
Roanoker, Curtis Staples.
Redick was drafted in the first
round by the Orlando Magic in last
month's N-B-A Draft.

Last night Tyler Lumsden was
traded from the White Sox organization
to the Royals.

June 2004 Lumsden, who is now 23, has a 9-4
:00 record and a 2.69 ERA in 20 starts for
the Double-A Birmingham Barons. In 123
2/3 innings, he has 72 strikeouts and
40 walks. Lumsden will report to
Double-A Wichita for his first
assignment, but the Royals say he will
have an excellent shot at making the
major league roster next season.

2005 Season Today is was Cedric Humes the
Tail-back who was drafted by the
Pittsburgh Steelers in the 7th Round.
Humes signed a multi-year deal
with club. He rushed for over 7
hundred yards as a senior in Blacksburg
and accounted for 11 Touchdowns. He
missed some time during last year due
to a Broken Arm suffered in the
Marshall Game but came back stronger
than ever.

for a different type of movie role.

roles, Cage will tap into his
flamboyant side in his next movie.
T-M-Z- dot-com says the actor will
play Liberace in a film about his life.
Cage is also producing the film about
the piano player who was as well known
for his jewelry and candelabras as he
was for his music.
Liberace died of AIDS in 1987.
In his next movie, "Ghost Rider,"
Cage plays an avenging angel who comes
back from the dead to fight crime on a
motorcycle.
