Last Night The two men were working on a
broken sewer line at the New River
Valley Mall around five o-clock when a
trench collapsed.

47-year-old Billy Eugene
Casey from Bluefield, West Virginia was
released from the hospital last night.

According to workers at the
site, Mike Schultz, from Peterstown,
West Virginia, was kept overnight for
observation.

Co-workers say Schultz was
buried alive and it was difficult to
free him from under the mud and water.

Schultz and Casey were in the
14-foot deep trench when a wall gave
way.

The Virginia Department of

shooting at motorists from a highway
overpass.

One man was killed and another wounded
in a one-day shooting spree. Police say
Blanton was out hunting with friends
and family this weekend when he became
upset over an argument...stormed off
and began shooting at random.

SOT: Jackson County Prosecutor Stephen

Pierson

"You have to assume that there was no
contact and no knowledge of who the
victims might be."

Levinson On-Camera Bridge

Blanton remains in jail here in
Brownstown. But on Monday, just a day
after the shootings, co-workers in his
hometown of Gaston said Blanton showed
up for work as usual and never
mentioned the attacks.

(Locator: Gaston, IN)

Blanton apparently has a reputation for
bad behavior.

SOT: Joe Snider/Blanton's Classmate

"He's gotten in trouble a lot,

But his neighbors say they saw a
different side of the teenager.

SOT: Linda Antrim/Blanton's Neighbor

"I've never had any problems with Zach
and I've never heard of the neighbors
having problems."

The charges against Blanton make him
eligible for the death penalty but
prosecutors have yet to decide if they
will seek that punishment if he is
found guilty.
