distribution conspiracy resulting in
serious bodily injury .
At a motions hearing for suspect
Gilbert Hadden today, his lawyer
pressed the government to reveal
whether it will rely on expert

explain Marc Lamarre's drug test
results.

six- count federal indictment for
stealing from the company.
Jesse Arthur Mixon, Junior maintained
his own company apart from his position
with Advance Auto.
The indictment says Mixon engaged in
the practice of deceiving Advance that
it was buying products from one
company, but in fact, Advance was
buying from Mixon.
The indictment seeks to seize more than
2-million dollars in allegedly
ill-gotten gains.

she turned the wrong way on Route 29
this morning and crashed head-on into
another car.

southbound lanes of Route 29 just south
of Route 460.
State police say 83-year-old
Virginia Cash Ford was driving the
wrong way when she collided with a van
driven by Dennis Eugene Smith Senior.

the Lynchburg hospital.
Smith was flown to the U-V-A
Medical Center where he's in serious
condition.

Field.

his most embarrasing and cause him to
be stripped of the title. Landis's
Phonack cycling team says they have
been informed that Landis tested
positive for high levels of
testosterone.

Stage 17 which was Landis's defining
moment of the tour when he took off on
a solo ride through the moutains that
got him back into contention for his
Tour de France win.
The 30 year old rider has been
suspended by his team pending the

sample. If there is a second positive
test he will be fired from his cycling
team and possibly stripped of his Tour
Title.

a litttle problem at the Class B fast
pitch world series this afternoon in
Salem.
In the 18 and under division it
was discovered that the team from
Maryland had advanced to the
championship game with four illegal
players.
The players met the age
requirements for the division - but in
Class B softball - unlike Class A -
college players are not allowed and the
Maryland team had four of them.
As a result the West Virginia
Hammers won the 18 and under title.

A flower known as the "corpse
plant" will bloom at Virginia Tech next
week.
The species only blooms every two
to five years and when it does, it
emits an intensely powerful stench.
Some say it's rotten eggs, others
liken the smell to dead fish.
It's hard to pin down an exact
time, but the plant is expected to open
up by Wednesday.
