A hospital spokesperson says no
one was injured, and no patient areas
were affected.

But the fire did cause some external
damage to a warehouse bay in the back
of Building 143.

An employee on an upper floor
spotted the flames around 12:30 A-M.

Hospital staff and Salem
firefighters responded... and they
remained on the scene for more than two
hours venting smoke from the warehouse
area.

The Board of Supervisors will
allow a peace sculpture to be placed
outside the County Government Center.

This steel beam is from one of
the towers.

Montgomery County Rotary Club
members went to New York to get the
metal about 8 months after the attacks.

A local artist is now sculpting
it.

The artwork will include a plaque
that says it's a symbol of the need for
world peace and understanding.

Democrat Jim Webb may be down in the
polls but he vows to make it up by
listening to how Virginians feel about
the issues.

And in this particular Roanoke
living room yesterday, Webb and his
supporters talked about economic
disparities, the War in Iraq, education
and stem cell research.

The former Secretary of the Navy
believes the U-S should have never
invaded Iraq and believes we should

talk more with other countries like
Syria.

Webb believes some of his biggest
challenges in the race are funding and
the lack of name recognition across
Virginia, something he's hoping to
combat as he travels the state.
