Two low-level drug dealers
admitted in court today that they
supplied heroin to former W-S-L-S
Meteorologist Marc Lamarre.
KEITH 2-SHOT KEITH 2-SHOT

For the first time, the
government provided a complete outline
of the case.

The prosecutor's summary painted
a picture of drug use by Lamarre and
his house-mate and colleague at Channel

OQ=of the investigation < (END SOT) pain-killer popular among

weightlifters, according to the
prosecution.

The evidence is he and Singleton were
injecting uthane and steroids into
their abdominal muscle.

When they ran out of those drugs, they
started using heroin last Summer... a
couple of bags a day.

From late Summer into October they were
using 25 bags of heroin every other

day, the government says. A bag
contains about one tenth of a gram of
heroin.

Singleton is said to have been
consuming as much as 17 bags a day.

By mid-November they sought medical
attention.

The two men underwent treatment at The
Mount Regis Center.

In January Lamarre obtained
prescription Xanax.

He was taken off the air, the
prosecutor said, after having
difficulty during the 5:30 newscast on
February 1st.

GRAPHIC=FRIDAY FOOTBALL EXTRA Pulaski County is used to

winning football games. But last
season, the Cougars finished with a 5
and 6 record and it was the team's
first losing season since 1978.

But Jack Turner says his
team will be better in 2006, because
the Cougars thrive on the weight of
expectations.

The Cougars return 4 starters
from last year, but should be in pretty
good shape at the skill positions.
Execution will be a must for success.

One of those is Christian Olsen
who will be the starting quarterback
for the Wahoos when they open the
season against Pittsburgh on September
2nd.

Olsen has made the rounds. He
started his college career at Notre
Dame before transfering to Virginia.

Now as a 5th year senior he will
get his shot to be the man behind
center. His Head Coach knows that
Olsen is as prepared as he is ever
going to be for the situations he will
see this season.

GRAPHIC=TECH The Tech coaches haven't settled

on a starting quarterback yet, but the
decision that will come in the next
couple of weeks likely will be based on
the top performance from the neck up.

Knowledge of the play book and
decision making ability are actually
more critical than athletic ability.
