someone phoned in a fake bomb threat.

The call came in around 10:45 to
the clerk's office.

Within 10 minutes sheriff's
deputies and Christiansburg Police had
the building evacuated.

Crime tape was put up around the
courthouse and Main Street and South

Franklin were closed off.

The sheriff's office brought in
bomb sniffing dogs from Roanoke City
and State Police.

No bomb was found and the
courthouse re-opened, but the cases
were canceled for the day.

The sheriff says he doesn't know
of anything on the court docket that
would have caused the hoax.

Christopher Gerald Williams was cutting
grass yesterday morning near Riverside
and Avalon Drives when he ran into the
woods.

Someone contacted police
after they thought they saw Williams on
Westover Drive last night.

Authorities caught Williams about
15 minutes later.

He now faces escape and identity
fraud charges.

deputies reportedly found a stallion on
his property.

facing multiple animal cruelty charges.

We begin with the US senior
national basketball team that has been
joking around over in China beating
Puerto Rico by 45 and China by 46 in

international play.

Well, today things got a little
too interesting as Coach K's team had
to hang on for dear life to beat Brazil
80-to-76.

The U.S. looked like it was in
great shape in the first half as
Carmelo Anthony dominated on both ends
of the floor scoring 16 first half
point as the US led at the break by 14
points.

But shortly before halftime
things took a turn for the worse for
Team USA as Anthony slammed into Coach
K on the USA sideline and injured his
knee. He did not play the rest of the
game and with Carmelo out - Brazil
opened the second half on 16-to-nothing
run. *CG final United States
80 Team USA would get it done down Brazil the stretch and hang on for the 76 80-to-76 win.

Anthony's right knee is
hyperextended, but the injury is not

considered to be serious.

Deyon Williams, the Cavs'
talented senior wide receiver is out
indefinitely with a stress fracture in
his right foot.

Williams is a co-captain and
without a doubt the Cavs' the top
offensive threat. Last year he ranked
second in the ACC in catches per game.
He had 58 catches and 7 touchdowns a
seasons ago for UVA.

The six-foot three inch 185
pounder is from Upper Marlboro,
Maryland.

Unknowns Kevin Ogletree and
Theirrien "Bud" Davis are now in line

to take his place. Between them they
have just 10 career catches and no
touchdowns.
