OQ=Chiou, News 7. <<

(END SOT) Israeli guns and tanks have fallen

silent.. but not before a barrage of

parting shots.

(NAT)

The war raged right up until this
mornings cease-fire went into effect.

In the final hours before the U-N

brokered truce.. Israeli warplanes

pounded Hezbollah targets across
Lebanon.

After a month of fighting that took
more than 900 lives on both sides..

the skies over Lebanon are clear
today.. but the streets of Beirut are

littered with Israeli leaflets vowing
retaliation for any militant

attack.

(Mark Regev, Israeli Foreign Ministry
Spokesman)

SOT 23:35:50 if Hezbollah continues to

attack our forces on the ground,

obviously that would mean a severe
validation to the cease fire and we

would be entitled to respond.

(NAT-)

Hezbollahs leader said this weekend
the group would abide by any

cease-fire, but that it would continue
fighting as long as Israeli

troops were in Lebanon.

An Israeli withdrawal.. and the
deployment of 15-thousand UN troops and

an equal number of Lebanese forces is a
cornerstone of the ceasefire

agreement.. but that has already been
thrown into limbo.. with the

Lebanese cabinets postponement of a
crucial meeting to iron out that

deployment.

Thousands of Lebanese residents who
fled the fighting are trusting the

ceasefire will hold.. theyve packed up
their cars and are headed back

home.

CLOSE: Even with the truce some key
issue remain unresolved.. including

the return of two Israeli soldiers..
whos capture by Hezbollah sparked

the fighting. Pauline Chiou, News 7.

(END SOT) Israeli guns and tanks have fallen

silent.. but not before a barrage of

parting shots.

(NAT)

The war raged right up until this
mornings cease-fire went into effect.

In the final hours before the U-N
brokered truce.. Israeli warplanes

pounded Hezbollah targets across
Lebanon.

After a month of fighting that took
more than 900 lives on both sides..

the skies over Lebanon are clear
today.. but the streets of Beirut are

littered with Israeli leaflets vowing
retaliation for any militant

attack.

(Mark Regev, Israeli Foreign Ministry
Spokesman)

SOT 23:35:50 if Hezbollah continues to

attack our forces on the ground,

obviously that would mean a severe
validation to the cease fire and we

would be entitled to respond.

(NAT-)

Hezbollahs leader said this weekend
the group would abide by any

cease-fire, but that it would continue
fighting as long as Israeli

troops were in Lebanon.

An Israeli withdrawal.. and the
deployment of 15-thousand UN troops and

an equal number of Lebanese forces is a
cornerstone of the ceasefire

agreement.. but that has already been
thrown into limbo.. with the

Lebanese cabinets postponement of a
crucial meeting to iron out that

deployment.

Thousands of Lebanese residents who
fled the fighting are trusting the

ceasefire will hold.. theyve packed up
their cars and are headed back

home.

CLOSE: Even with the truce some key
issue remain unresolved.. including

the return of two Israeli soldiers..
whos capture by Hezbollah sparked

the fighting. Pauline Chiou, News 7.

Bill and Melinda Gates are calling on
countries to dig deep to fight the
disease.

The couple says the money is needed to
spur the next big breakthrough.. they
say that breakthrough could be in the
form of drugs that can block
transmission of the virus.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
has given nearly two billion dollars to
combat AIDS worldwide.

Gates recently announced he would hand
over day-to-day duties at Microsoft to
dedicate more time to the foundation

Women trying to prevent pregnancy stick
with the pill over the patch..
according to a new study.

Researchers found that women at high
risk of pregnancy who used the
contraceptive patch were more likely to
discontinue use.. than women using the
pill.

The researchers also found that the
pregnancy rate was higher for patch
users than for pill users in this
study.

Researchers are once again touting the
benefits of an active life.

A review of several published studies
on the topic found that exercise keeps
the body and mind in tiptop shape.

The researchers concluded that taken
together the data suggests that
exercise and physical activity may slow

age-related declines in cognitive
function.

The team found that exercise is not
only beneficial for healthy people..
but also for those already showing
signs of dementia.

(END SOT) Israeli guns and tanks have fallen

silent.. but not before a barrage of

parting shots.

(NAT)

The war raged right up until this
mornings cease-fire went into effect.

In the final hours before the U-N
brokered truce.. Israeli warplanes

pounded Hezbollah targets across
Lebanon.

After a month of fighting that took
more than 900 lives on both sides..

the skies over Lebanon are clear
today.. but the streets of Beirut are

littered with Israeli leaflets vowing
retaliation for any militant

attack.

(Mark Regev, Israeli Foreign Ministry
Spokesman)

SOT 23:35:50 if Hezbollah continues to

attack our forces on the ground,

obviously that would mean a severe
validation to the cease fire and we

would be entitled to respond.

(NAT-)

Hezbollahs leader said this weekend
the group would abide by any

cease-fire, but that it would continue
fighting as long as Israeli

troops were in Lebanon.

An Israeli withdrawal.. and the
deployment of 15-thousand UN troops and

an equal number of Lebanese forces is a
cornerstone of the ceasefire

agreement.. but that has already been
thrown into limbo.. with the

Lebanese cabinets postponement of a
crucial meeting to iron out that

deployment.

Thousands of Lebanese residents who
fled the fighting are trusting the

ceasefire will hold.. theyve packed up
their cars and are headed back

home.

CLOSE: Even with the truce some key
issue remain unresolved.. including

the return of two Israeli soldiers..
whos capture by Hezbollah sparked

the fighting. Pauline Chiou, News 7.
