a traffic accident last night.

It happened on Randall Drive in the
Mount Pleasant area of Roanoke County.
County police were mapping the roadway
today, hoping skid marks and
measurements might help determine how
it happened.
Officer Mark Torbert says "speed is
probably going to end up being a
factor."
The speed limit here is 35; a caution
sign indicates the safe speed is 30.
Daniel Joseph Cromwell was apparently
not wearing a seat belt, when his
Hyundai Elantra hit an embankment and
rolled over around 6:30 last night.
Police believe Cromwell was thrown out
the sun roof.
An 18-year passenger was uninjured in
the wreck.

Michelle Nicely was driving a 1997
Dodge Neon when she ran off the right
side of the road and struck a tree.

purchased the old Merritt Hutchinson
Resort near Leesville.
They're planning to build a
school, residential community for
faculty, along with a retirement
community and golf course on the site.

In an effort to cut its deficit
in half, the museum will close
Wednesdays, the White House will close
for most of the winter.
Although it's already been
studied several times, a new team of
experts is now looking into the
museum's options.
Rawls just hopes they don't
include using General Lee's pen for
another surrender.
