We have breaking news out of
Blacksburg at this hour.

Montgomery County's sheriff says an
escaped inmate suspected of shooting
and killing a security officer
yesterday has now shot and killed a
Montgomery County deputy this morning
near the Virginia Tech campus.

They believe William Charles Morva
shot Eric Sutphin around seven A-M.

Virginia Tech has cancelled classes,
and shut down the campus as the manhunt
continues.

bomb trans- Atlantic flights.

suspects were detained after a deadly
bombing at a market.

were killed today in Egypt, when a
Cairo- bound passenger train barreled
into another at a train station.

miles north of Cairo.

Police sources say one of the trains
failed to stop at a signal,

events remained before racing's post
season.

had a rough ride in this one.

Just 2 laps in, he hit the wall, went
a lap down and wound up finishing 13th.

Kevin Harvick was tracking Matt
Kenseth for the lead at lap 22.

But Harvick got loose and rode the
merry- go -round before recovering to
finish 11th.

With just 36 to go, Kenseth
wrestled the lead away from Clint
Bowyer, and took care of his tires
enough to beat Jeff Gordon to the

checkers by 10 car lengths.

It's Kenseth's 3rd win of the
season, and he now trails Johnson by
just 58 points in standings.
