Campbell County supervisor Rick
Boyer today called on Senator Steve
Newman to clarify his pro-life position
and divest himself from Barr
Laboratories.

Boyer says the so-called "Plan B"
pill can destroy a fertilized embryo by
not allowing it to implant in the
mother's womb.

But Newman says Boyer has his
science wrong, and that the pill simply
eliminates ovulation ... and ultimately
prevents abortions.

The Bush administration has come
out in favor of the Plan B pill.

:00 Sprinter Justin Gatlin - the
world's fastest man - was banned from
from track and field for eight years
tonight, and it could have been a
lifetime ban had Gatlin not cooperated
with authorities. Gatlin tested
positive in April for testosterone or
other steroids, and as part of his
punishment he will forfeit the world
record he tied in May, when he ran the
100 meters in 9.77 seconds.

Plus, since he's 24, the eight
year ban might as well be a lifetime
ban. He can appeal the length of the
punishment, but he is not denying the
validity of the test. Gatlin won the

Olympic Gold medal in the 100 meter
dash at 2004 Olympic Games in Athens

MLB Albert Pujols was unbelievable
tonight for the Cards. In the fourth
inning he delivers a three run homer
way out of the yard at Shea Stadium as
the Cards take a 3-to-1 lead.

Then in the fourth, Pujols would
back to the plate and improve that by a
run as he jacks a grand slam to stake
the Cardinals to a 7-to-1 lead. Pujols
had 7 rbis tonight.

But the Mets scratched their way
back into it and in the bottom of the
ninth -

Carlos Beltran belted a two-run
homer in the to cap the Mets' comeback. *CG final St. Louis

VO-NAT This week the superintendent in

the county, Tony Brads, got all of the
high school coaches at James River and
Lord Botetourt together to announce a
new initiative.

Beginning this school year, all
of the varsity and jayvee sports teams
at the two schools will play each on an
annual basis.

In recent years - the two county
rivals had all but quit playing each
with the exception of a few sports.

The hope is that the new plan
will invigorate fans and players and at
the same time keep sportsmanship in the
forefront.

perfect.

James River obviously has fewer

that isn't taht big of a deal in some

This Friday the two will play a
benefit football game in Daleville, but
