dead.

16 year old Victoria Lynn
Phillips died at the scene.
She was wearing a seatbelt at the
time of the crash.
Police say she ran off the side
of the road, overcorrected, was T-Boned
by a pick-up truck, glanced off and
then hit another truck.
Phillips was a cheerleader at
Lord Botetourt High School.

athlete caught cheating has admitted to
doing so.

world's fastest man - was banned from
from track and field for eight years
last night.
It could have been a lifetime
ban, had Gatlin not cooperated with
authorities.
Gatlin tested positive in April
for testosterone or other steroids.
As part of his punishment he will
forfeit the world record he tied in
May, when he ran the 100 meters in
9-point-77 seconds.
Plus, since he's 24, the eight
year ban might as well be a lifetime
ban.
He can appeal the length of the
punishment, but he is not denying the
validity of the test.
Gatlin won the Olympic Gold medal
in the 100 meter dash at 2004 Olympic
Games in Athens.

contracting polio.
Years later an acoustic neuroma
caused him to go deaf in his left ear

effects his balance.
Still, his greatest therapy, both
physically and mentally is cycling.

Kenny's story when he traveled from Los
Angeles to Boston, over three-thousand
miles by bicycle.

New Orleans.
That's close to two-thousand
miles.
Once again, hoping to raise money
to help find a cure.

On his bike traveling from
International Falls, Minnesota to New
Orleans, Louisiana.
A friend worked out the logistics
so Kenny can simply focus on his
mission -- to raise awareness of
Multiple Sclerosis and to raise money
for the MS Society.
This is not the first long
distance journey he's made on his
bicycle in the name of finding a cure.
In 2002, he traveled from Los
Angeles to Boston.
The 3,420 mile trip was completed
in just under two months.
Kenny calls it a life-changing
experience.

deadline has passed but Dan River
employees are still on the job in
Brookneal.

planned to close its Brookneal plant
unless a buyer could be found for the
textile business.
Under federal law, yesterday was
the earliest the company could start
laying off some of the plant's 300
workers.

either the building or the business.

dead.

Phillips died at the scene. She was
wearing a seatbelt at the time of the
crash.
Police say she ran off the side

Phillips was a cheerleader at
Lord Botetourt High School.

world's fastest man - was banned from
from track and field for eight years
last night.
It could have been a lifetime ban
had Gatlin not cooperated with
authorities.
Gatlin tested positive in April
for testosterone or other steroids, and
as part of his punishment he will
forfeit the world record he tied in
May, when he ran the 100 meters in
9-point-77 seconds.
Plus, since he's 24, the eight
year ban might as well be a lifetime
ban.
He can appeal the length of the
punishment, but he is not denying the
validity of the test.
Gatlin won the Olympic Gold medal
in the 100 meter dash at 2004 Olympic
Games in Athens.

Years later an acoustic neuroma

physically and mentally is cycling.

New Orleans.

capital murder charge yesterday.

Charles Morva is charged with capital
murder in the death of a security
officer and is suspected, but not yet

also arraigned yesterday.
He's accused of helping
