John Mark Karr began his long walk
through the colorado justice system
in a slow shufflle at the jefferson
county airport.
The man who said he was with JonBenet
Ramsey when she died in 1996 spent
his first night in a jail cell
isolated from other prisoners.

"There's always some concern with
anyone facing charges involving
children that there may be some
retaliation or some danger from the
other inmates."
The 41 year old teacher is expected to
appear before a judge as early as
Monday to face charges in the infamous
murder case. He was extradited
to Boulder Thursday after spending a
number of days in california where
he had been charged with possessing
child pornography back in 2001.

Bringing Karr to justice has been an
international odyssey. It started
in thailand last week when he was
arrested ,,, just five days after
officials here in Boulder learned his
name.
Prosecutors refuse to tip their hand on
the evidence against Karr,
keeping the arrest warrant and other
documents sealed. They have been
criticized for years on their handling
of the case and are now
proceeding with extreme caution.

Since Karr's bizarre public confession
in Thailand his role in the
murder of JonBenet has been questioned.

A Minnesota man was killed, and
several others were injured.

High School student has been flown to
Lynchburg General Hospital following an
accident.

It happened on Wise Carver Road
in the Rustburg area of Campbell County
around 10:30.
Rescue crews say the teenage
driver ran off the right side of the
road, overcorrected and clipped the
back end of a tractor trailer headed
the other direction.
It took about 45 minutes to free
the 17-year-old from the vehicle.
There's no word on the driver's
identity or condition.
The tractor trailer is carrying
diesel fuel and developed a small leak.
Crews are working to contain that leak
now.

has gripped the country ever
since Natascha vanished.

day-- a high -flying cow.

A cattle farmer in Madrid
discovered the cow had fallen into a
ravine, and couldn't climb out on its
own.
It had been missing for three days,
when rescue crews came to its aid.
They removed the cow from the ravine
by helicopter, and brought it to
safety.
The animal was in good health,
despite not having eaten for three
days.
