THE LITTLE BOYS BROTHER HELD HIM IN HIS
ARMS, WHILE THE 19-YEAR-OLD DRIVER GOT
A JACKET OUT OF THE TRUNK OF HER CAR
AND PUT IT UNDER THE SIX YEAR OLDS HEAD
TO COMFORT HIM.

HYSTERICAL.

Walker says no one actually saw
19-year-old Shani Mitchener hit the
six-year-old, but everyone certainly
heard the teenager calling for help.

this point.

one wanted to talk about the accident.

GRAPHIC=Shooting Danville police have arrested a
man in connection with an early morning
shooting.

It happened around one o'clock in
the parking lot of the American Legion
Hall.
Officers say a 31-year-old man
suffered gunshots wounds to his arm,
leg and chest.
He was transferred to Duke for
further treatment.
No word on his condition.

Police have charged 25-year-old
Ricky Jerome Myers of Chatham with
malicious wounding.
He's being held in the city jail
under no bond.
Police say the hall was being
rented for a family reunion when the
incident happened.

GRAPHIC=Plane Crash, generic Forty-nine people are dead after
a plane crashed in Lexington, Kentucky
this morning.
One person survived.

Officials say Comair flight 51-91
to Atlanta went down just after six
this morning -- after taking off from
Blue Grass Airport.
They say the plane was carrying
46 passengers and three crew members.
The lone survivor has been
identified as First Officer Jim
Polehinke (POLE-hink-ee).
He's been taken to University of
Kentucky hospital -- and is reported to
be in critical condition.
There are reports the plane took
off from the wrong runway.

But in Iraq, the Iraqi soldiers
may not be rewarded as often.
