Taken into custody a few days ago -
Hamed al-Saeedi is said to be (super
FILE; 2/22/06 Samara, Iraq) directly
linked to last February's bombing of
Samara's Golden mosque. The Shrine -
considered one of Shiites Muslim's
holiest - was bombed to oblivion in a
pre-dawn operation. Many Shiites blamed
militant Sunnis. Counter attacks by
both sides further embroiled the Muslim
on Muslim violence.

Calling al-Saeedi the second most
important leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq,
Iraqi officials say information
al-Saeedi has given up has led to the
arrest or death of 11 top al-Qaeda
figures and nine lower-level members.

As officials continue to route out the
al-Qaeda threat and hopefully mend
rifts between the sects - to the north
- the population is defining themselves
as Kurds first - Iraqis second.

Sunday the Kurdish region's president
threatened to secede as a dispute over
flying the Iraqi flag intensified. Last
week - he ordered Iraq's national flag
to be replaced with the Kurdish one.

On the streets of Baghdad, the move to
replace the Iraqi flag, was widely
condemned. A dispute so far that has
not cost lives... But the death toll in
the country continues to mount.. Across
Iraq Sunday - at least 20 Iraqis, two
U.S. soldiers and a Marine were killed
in bomb attacks and shootings. Lou

Wine producers had predicted a

Thanks to the dry weather this

summer, growers were anticipating a
sweeter, more robust flavored grape.

Too much moisture can cause the
grapes to swell and rupture.

According to the U-S Department

growers gathered 56-hundred tons of

:00 It's been a rough couple of months
for Steelers quarterback Ben
Roethlisberger. Today it got worse
when Big Ben got sick before practice
and was taken to the hospital where he
had an emergency appendectomy.

This just 2 and a half months
after that motorcycle accident that
broke his jaw and several facial bones.

Roethlisberger will miss
Thursday's opener against the Dolphins.
Charlie Batch will get the start.

Organizers of the Dairyland-
Surf- Classic in Sheboygan say Lake
Michigan is known to surfers as the
Third Coast.

They also say the surfing in the
Great Lakes is as challenging as
anywhere in the U-S.

The waves may not be as
impressive as they are in the ocean but
they're difficult to master.

Organizers say the best time to
surf Lake Michigan is when the wind is
blowing at least 20 to 25 miles per
hour.
