Steve Irwin that much more of a
surprise

More than 20 years as an animal expert
came to a tragic end in the waters's of
Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Irwin
was was filming a segment for an

upcoming series called "Ocean's
Deadliest" when a freak accident took
his life.

the stingray's barb went up and went
into his chest and put a hole in his
heart)

Crew members on board Irwin's boat
"Croc One" scrambled to summon
emergency services in the nearest
city...but it was too late-he died in
transit.

6:40:56 he left this world in a happy
and peaceful state of mine. He would've
said crocs rule!)

The TV host with the wild personality
made it his mission to bring audiences
a look at wildlife up close-sometimes
to a fault.

2 years ago Irwin raised eyebrows while
holding his infant son in one arm and
feeding a large crocodile with the
other... later shrugging off

criticism that he was endangering the
welfare of his child.

GRAPHIC=Shooting A shooting in Danville sent two

men to the hospital early this morning.

At around 1:00 police received a
911 call from a motorist claiming that
he had two shooting victims in the car.

Shortly thereafter police stopped
the vehicle on Central Boulevard and
both men were transported to the
Danville Regional Medical Center.

Police say they believe the men
were shot with a shotgun in the 2100
block of North Main Street.

One of the victims, a 24-year-old
from Chatham sustained injuries to the
face.

The second victim, a 20-year-old
from Danville, suffered leg injuries.
Both are listed in stable condition.

Police are not releasing any
names and the investigation is
continuing.

accident last spring.

HINES-burger and 60-year-old Gregory
Harrington had just finished installing
an antenna on this radio tower last
March when the cable they were being
lowered with broke.

Both men fell about 30 feet.

The fall killed Harrington.

Investigators found the wire-
ropes the two men used as a life- line
did not meet required standards.

The men were also attached to the
same line, and should have each had
their own.

No citations were issued though
because Harrington was the sole owner
of the company.
